  ➹- Amane felt like no one dared to go against her because she was now with her ‘brother’ who in fact was the ‘ best thief’ in the world. The escape was silent and careful considering they were still thieves stealing an artifact. She had already set up traps around the backdoor so no guard could ever get there.

   The managed to escape with no traces of their tracks whatsoever. Amane shot another dose of sleep darts to the sleeping guards to extend their overtime. Someone’s getting fired for sleeping in the job.

    They were out of sight and safe from any authority. She turned to Thief King, a smile never leaving her face and her eyes on the verge of tears of joy. However, a giggle came out of her instead when he asked where the restaurant was. She had many questions and most of which involved.. how was he alive.

   “ Just a few blocks from here, we’ll have to take the underground way though since the guards will be in pursuit soon.” Amane smiled as she let’s the bag hang from her shoulders and held out her hand.

   “Come on, brother.” She said. - ➹

Thief King Bakura followed Amane, growing more and more impressed by the very second. He was proud of her, even if he was more than a little surprised that she had chosen the life of a thief. While it was an exciting life, it was also considerably dangerous, and though she had proven she could more than handle herself in such a situation - she had even matched him in combat! - he wondered her reasoning behind such a career path. He followed her towards their destined route, and did not attempt to speak until they were relatively safe in the dark cavernous underground, footsteps echoing around them.

"Who is your client, anyway?" The thief asked, to fill the air. The more pressing questions could wait over a nice meal, preferably as he was stuffing his face with neat. "And how did you-?" A shake of his head. Despite his curiosity, he was sure she'd tell him how she ended up here in time. The guards were likely awake, and perhaps by now they had discovered that their precious artifact had been taken. He smirked, amused and astounded by the series of unlikely, but very fortunate, circumstances that had brought the thief and Amane together again.

that night the priest was restless so at first he just wandered around in his room before he had enough and exited his chamber. the cloak around his shoulders hang loosely and swayed in the gentle wind that blew though the halls and corridors. a small shiver went down his spine and he pulled the cloak tighter around himself to warm his body. his feet seemed to act on their own and took him to the east wing, the pharaoh was away in Arabia to sign the new peace treaty between the two countries and as far as the blond knew the Pharaoh was good friends with the king. 

for the time being he himself and a few others were in charge of the palace, maybe that’s why Marik was so restless at the moment….there was so much to do and even if he wasn’t the one who replaced the pharaoh the audiences have been more exhausting than before. also his sister had talked about weird visions which upset her to the point where she could hardly sleep but no matter how much Marik wanted her to talk to him she refused to.

he was so deep in thoughts that he hardly registered the loud and echoing sound that went through the dead and quiet corridor. only as he stepped on the goblet and slipped he snapped out of his thoughts, making it just in time to keep him from hitting his head on the floor. “the frick…” he mumbled and stood up again to grab the cup that had rolled away a little. The Priest was confused about his discovery but just sighed as he decided to take it to the treasure vault where most of the gold and valuables were. 

Thief King Bakura crouched in a room nearby, listening as the clattering of the chalice finally stopped. He strained to listen for the slightest of sounds, body tense and pressed close to the wall. It took a moment, but it did not take long before  he heard the quiet sounds of sandals on the stone floor. Whoever it was stumbled over something - the chalice, from the sounds of it - and the footsteps began to retreat, growing fainter by the second.

Thief King Bakura finally slipped from the room, and stood obscured as he looked after the figure. The individual did not seem to wear guards clothing, instead donning a fine cloak. He found himself curious as to where the person was heading. It had been the direction the thief was headed, anyway, so with a haughty smirk he began to silently follow the individual. It was very likely that he was going someplace important, as judging by the man's clothes, he was a person of fairly important stature. The thief would simply have to make sure he didn't get caught - at least until the individual reached his destination, at which point he would be free to knock the man out as he pleased. A triumphant grin on his face, Thief King Bakura lurked in the shadows, eagerly creeping after his unaware guide.

The thief crept around shadowy corners and through torch-lit hallways. The guards were scarce and far between which suited him just fine. After all, they had little to guard, with the Pharaoh on some sort of petty diplomatic mission to the north. As much as Thief King Bakura wanted to reap his revenge against the almighty Pharaoh, he concluded it was a far wiser choice to seize this chance to thoroughly examine the layout of the palace grounds and the surrounding areas. And, of course, to take a little gold while he was out. 

He knocked out the guards and passerby with little effort - killing them would put the palace on high alert, something he didn’t want -  and was now going from room to room, making note of each area and taking a few things of value. He examined the treasures he managed to gather, pleased with himself.

Perhaps a little too pleased. There was a slightly raised tile that he had overlooked, and his foot caught on the ledge, sending a chalice flying from his hands and skittering across the stone floor. The cacophonous noise made him stiffen in annoyance, but he had little time to gauge whether anyone had heard it. He ducked into the nearest room and searched for a place to hide.

It didn’t take much for the thief to realize someone had intruded on his domain. He smirked from his perch in the shadows, watching as the trespasser came into view. The person struck him as familiar, but he didn’t particularly care about who they might be. No, the only thing that mattered to Bakura was why they were here. He held a small rock loosely in his hand, ready to throw it in an attempt at catching the stranger off guard.
