Good times, great people, and it was awesome seeing everyone's reactions to the debut of the Mutation Station collection. The Petri Dish specimens definitely turned a few heads... and maybe grew a few extra eyes. š

I've always loved the classic silver Sentinel Sphere, but the Gold Sphere never seems to get much attention.
After searching around and coming up empty, I decided to make one myself.

PROJECT: WATCHER VINE
For years, Mutation Station researchers believed the Ocular Creeper was little more than an unusually aggressive botanical mutation.
They were wrong.
Recent observations have revealed an extensive vascular root network capable of supporting multiple ocular growths. The organism appears to combine characteristics of plant tissue, fungal mycelium, and... something we have chosen not to classify.
Even more concerning...
Exposure to ultraviolet light causes the colony to exhibit increased bioluminescent activity.
Researchers have reported the unsettling sensation of being watched, even after leaving the laboratory.
Coincidence?
We're choosing to call it that.

Despite repeated recommendations from the safety committee (which consists of my wife and common sense), research continues.
Today's accomplishments include creating several new Mutation Station specimens that probably shouldn't exist, including a few rather opinionated eyeball organisms.
If this post suddenly stops updating...
...assume the specimens escaped containment.

Early testing indicates NA-03 aggressively rewrites living tissue while preserving structural integrity far beyond expected parameters.
Side effects include extreme aggression, accelerated regeneration, and a complete disregard for workplace safety protocols.
Research continues.
Management insists everything remains under control.

Started with a simple 3D printed stencil and a pair of black cutoff jeans that already had a few battle scars from work. Turns out chemical accidents make pretty good inspiration.
Not perfect, but that's kind of the point. Mutation Station was never supposed to be clean.

Think iv got her a smooth as shes gonna get, this is the first prototype, so cant expect perfection. Gloss black coating before the silver. Least I managed to get the size right. These are a bit bigger than I thought they were
Currently working on a full-scale Phantasm Sphere. ā ļøāļø
The size is finally where I want it, now comes the real challenge: getting the surface as smooth and reflective as possible for that cold metallic shine the spheres have in the films.
Itās fully 3D printed, so thereās been a LOT of sanding, filling, sanding againā¦ then questioning my life choicesā¦ then more sanding. š
I donāt think Iāll ever get it QUITE as mirror-finished as the movie prop, but Iām determined to get as close as I can.
Anybody here worked on high-gloss metallic props before? Always open to suggestions, techniques, or secret dark rituals.

These are the latest versions of the biotech virus samples Iāve been designing for Mutation Station. I gave them a more original containment-lab look while steering away from direct franchise designs, especially for Etsy.
Still, I had to start with the classics:

Resident Evil 1 and 2 on the original PlayStation were absolute legends and a huge inspiration growing up. Between the creatures, the atmosphere, the lab experiments, and the gloriously over-the-top biotech horror, those games permanently altered my brain chemistry. š¤£
