Demonstrations against Russian aggression in Ukraine in front of the Russian Embassy in Tallinn continue. Today, protesters gathered in front of the embassy building to draw attention to Russian soldiers' abuses of women and children in Ukraine.

Their message is: "Russian soldiers are raping and murdering innocent women and children in Ukraine. People who support this war also support war crimes, jarring murders to which they are accomplices. That is our message to the supporters of the Putin regime (in Russia, Estonia and everywhere)."

i haven’t updated about ukraine or afghanistan in a while. i am keeping up with the news, but it’s so depressing and horrifying, and there’s only so many times you can makes posts just saying ‘more rape’, ‘back to pre war oppression’, ‘more rights lost’. i highly recommend that if you are mentally healthy, to try to keep up with at least the larger things, we cannot let them fade into the background and just become ‘the reality of ____ world countries’ where we’re sad for a minute and then move on with our lives. but i know that with the usa abortion situation and the impact of the depp/amber case on abuse victims as a whole in regards to societal reaction, a lot of women on here are incredibly burnt out and feeling rather hopeless. don’t force yourself, but don’t forget.

Regarding Afghanistan: There’s is a brilliant Swedish journalist called Magda Gad in Kabul at the moment. She published an article today that states there is widespread civil disobedience against the veiling law. A majority of the women in Kabul are not covering their faces in public today (the first day the mandate was valid). Things are bad, but reading about the brave women who defy the taliban cheered me up a bit this morning.
