Bijlia dilatata

Bijlia dilatata is one of the many mesembs, or members of the Ice Plant Family, found in southern Africa. It is sometimes called the Prince Albert Vygie - "vygie" being a South African general term for succulents in the Ice Plant Family, and Prince Albert being the town adjacent to where this species grows. The plant is like a living sculpture, and it is astounding to see how many large bright-yellow flowers it makes when its blooming time arrives!

One of my local nurseries gets really gorgeous phalaenopsis in on occasion. They’re very expensive, but lovely. Sadly, the grower doesn’t label them, so I don’t know the clonal names for any of these.
