THERESA BEAULIEU | 𝔾ℝ𝔼𝔼𝕂 | DEMETER
Appears: 35 ◆ Type: Harvest ◆ Occupation: Vice President of Operations at Sable Inc
𝕭𝖎𝖔𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖕𝖍𝖞:
The Beaulieu family was dirt poor, working and living in the same crowded space above the convenience store they owned in a small town just outside of the large and bustling city of Bucharest. Given their financial turmoil, they only had one child: Theresa. Soon after she was old enough to understand their station in life, all of the familial pressure was put on her to keep their family together through illness and poverty.
Theresa tried for many years to keep her family afloat, but nothing could stave off terminal illness, no matter how hard she tried. When Theresa was twelve, her mother died of a simple staph infection they could not afford to treat and two years later her father’s lungs decimated his body with cancer.
Death is an inevitability, but it never lays claim to lives before their time.
After losing the family store and her home, Theresa climbed onto a small fishing boat and hid under a layer of pelts managing to hide long enough for the two fishermen not to find her until they were well underway. She bartered for safe passage with what little she had and managed to make her way onto a passenger ship headed for New York. She knew nothing of the place other than she may have a chance to start over. And start over she did.
𝕻𝖘𝖞𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖔𝖌𝖞:
Theresa is a remarkably intelligent woman though she never had any formal training until she was well into her twenties. She read every book that she could find until Samuel Melville spotted her working as a maid for one of his associates and decided to strike up a conversation. Even with broken English, Theresa was more intriguing than anyone he had met and the determination always flitting behind her gaze has intrigued many.
ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: focused, resourceful, benevolent, observant, and disciplined
ℕ𝕖𝕘𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: questioning, escapist, wishful, hesitant, and ritualistic
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘:
Samuel Melville: The patron of Theresa’s life, Samuel brought her to work for him within days of meeting her. He paid for English language courses and funded her higher education at NYU to prime her for leading his day to day operations and though she knows he has done this not entirely selflessly, she remains thankful for her second chance at life.
Seraphine Wolfram: On one of the few coffee runs she makes herself, Theresa ran into Seraphine. Literally. Never wanting to bring misfortune onto others, she asked the girl to stay and talk a while after Theresa bought her a new round of coffee. She couldn’t. On the few occasions Theresa and Seraphine have a free moment that aligns, they have coffee together. Sometimes walking around the park.
Pomona Torres: For some reason whenever Theresa happens to walk by Elysium, she immediately notices Pomona behind the bar. Theresa never goes inside, however, because the establishment is hardly to her liking, nor does it invite the type of crowd with with she would want to mingle. The pair have never spoken, but they often share similarly confused glances in each other’s directions when they cross paths.

ZOE AMBROSE | 𝔾ℝ𝔼𝔼𝕂 | CLOTHO
Appears: 29 ◆ Type: Fate ◆ Occupation: Associate at Trinity Bookstore
𝕭𝖎𝖔𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖕𝖍𝖞:
Youngest of the Moirai, Zoe is life. Spinning the threads of each mortal’s existence from conception until birth -- or until Morana and Alexander step in. It is true that not all the threads Zoe weaves see the crepuscular rays of sunlight and each of the fates have their fingers wrapped around such short strings should that be the case which is hardly ideal and oftentimes frustrating. Zoe has never gotten quite used to her masterpieces not taking their first breath.
Siblings, the Moirai and Oneiroi, not born into the world like other deities provides an Ambrose with objectivity. True objectivity. Zoe and her siblings were of the few beings sent to earth before the soil had cooled; their purpose beginning anew with each reincarnation of the planet fated to orbit a sickly star until it burns out. Perhaps longer.
The creation of life begins with Zoe, after all.
The Ambrose with, arguably, the least impartiality toward humans on account of her work being complete once they take a breath, Zoe spends her days interacting with whomever wanders into Trinity. She is softer than Dalia and even more charming than Alexander, so she does all of the front-of-house legwork in their stead and quite enjoys it.
𝕻𝖘𝖞𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖔𝖌𝖞:
Zoe is the beginning and she holds all the wide-eyed hopefulness of one breathing life into darkness. Exuberant and kind, Zoe has never met a human she does not like, though her sisters often tell her it is a terrible idea to become attached to something as transient as life. An eternity of practice in letting go has hardly dampened her spirits, however, and it is likely it never will.
ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: optimistic, sympathetic, exuberant, calm, gentle
ℕ𝕖𝕘𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: sanctimonious, vague, delicate, hesitant, aloof
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘:
Elodia Fenton: The kindest and most endearing soul to have wandered into Trinity, Elodia and Zoe became fast friends. Wandering through the stacks of books and discussing the ways of words tend to dominate their time together. Zoe has yet to confide in Elodia about the family, however; hoping one day Seshat will be bright enough to realize on her own.
Jamie Nereus: Level-headed and yet captivatingly charismatic with the ability to sway nearly anyone into their corner, Poseidon made quick work of befriending Zoe. Not entirely dichotomous counterparts, Zoe finds Jamie’s presence to be at once soothing and exciting -- though it is likely this stems entirely from the fact she is around the rest of her siblings most days.
The Ambrose Family: There is no denying Zoe is an Ambrose, but she lacks the tell-tale steely, unaffected nature of her siblings (except Oria, of course). Zoe spends far more time with mortals than her siblings and has been encouraged more than once not to interfere in their lives for it changes the nature of the work the rest of the siblings do, but she hardly listens. Only under the direct scrutiny of Alexander or Dalia does she wither, but they are so often busy meddling in mortal lives they do not notice her unless she’s gotten in the way.

ALEXANDER AMBROSE | 𝔾ℝ𝔼𝔼𝕂 | THANATOS
Appears: 36 ◆ Type: Death ◆ Occupation: Manager of Trinity Bookstore
𝕭𝖎𝖔𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖕𝖍𝖞:
Death. Such strong, unforgiving connotations wrapped around immeasurable terror or, if you are lucky, absolute detachment. Known to the world as the grim reaper, Alexander’s presence does not incite feelings of excitement no matter how charming his smile can be. Fortunately, Alexander merely brings people their demise and his face is quickly forgotten. The ‘how’ or ‘why’ is not quite up to him, however, and that is precisely how he likes it.
Having not been born into the world like other deities, Alexander has the tell-tale objectivity of an Ambrose. True objectivity. Sent to earth before the soil had cooled, Alexander walked alongside his siblings to watch as life began anew. The beginning of each incarnation is woefully boring for Alexander, however, and rightfully so.
Life precedes Death, but Death gets restless.
Though the instrument of demise, Alexander houses no chaos in his soul. Much like his counterpart Dalia, he has found himself aiding in the insidious plots of mortals more often than he would care to admit, but it is likely because he has lost the ability to care for mortals at all. Or so it would seem.
𝕻𝖘𝖞𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖔𝖌𝖞:
Alexander is the stroke of an axe. He rarely questions the reasoning for his charge because in doing so, Alexander would be questioning his siblings and questioning fate has consequences when they know where you live. A calm exterior and an impassive gaze that matches his sister Dalia keep people’s interest at bay even though he is forever situated within his mind poised and ready to fulfill his duties and strike up conversation.
ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: charismatic, alert, disciplined, systematic, and humorous
ℕ𝕖𝕘𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: impassive, cerebral, critical, secretive, and morbid
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘:
Dalia Ambrose: The sister that beat him to earth by milliseconds, Dalia is as close to his perfect match as anyone. Alexander enjoys calling her his twin for a plethora of reasons, not the least of which being their disinterest in milling about with humans, though Alexander is far more amiable than she. His quick wit and sly smile endear anyone to him if he so desires, but Dalia keeps him in line. Sometimes.
Lucian Antanasov: Hades: the keeper of those the Ambroses have played with and grown tired of. Alexander quite enjoys tormenting the man from time to time: asking how it feels to be the eternal babysitter of the dead, but more often than not, Alexander bores of Hades’ preening. The manager of the underworld. How fascinating.
Samuel Melville: Corrupt and devious, Samuel has tried more than once to cull favor with Alexander in hopes of keeping those he needs alive and ridding the world of those he doesn’t. It hasn’t worked. Alexander has watched his youngest sibling Oria struggle against the chaos in her bones and hopes never to feel the same. Set could not offer Alexander something enticing enough to convince him otherwise.

DOUGLAS AMBROSE | 𝔾ℝ𝔼𝔼𝕂 | PHOBETOR
Appears: 32 ◆ Type: Nightmares ◆ Occupation: Author
𝕭𝖎𝖔𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖕𝖍𝖞:
Sent to Earth long after their sisters – The Fates – and their brother Death, the Oneiroi made their corporal appearance on the planet the moment humans began dreaming. Each child slowly growing accustomed to their subconscious one by one only to let Douglas, the eldest, infiltrate their dormant minds when they closed their eyes. Young minds prime for utilization.
Douglas was not always the dreadfully cruel being he is known to be not that it is unlike the rest of the family, but times change. Needs change. Nightmares manifested themselves as survival techniques in moments of deep slumber when it no longer became safe to remain unaware. Douglas kept the hands of fate happy, ensuring humans had the proper subconscious motivations and a gentle push to propel them in the right direction.
It is easy to keep fate happy when you know how she takes her coffee.
With the advent of sturdy shelters and alarm systems, Douglas found it was hardly necessary to use nightmares to force humans awake, but instead found it more interesting to transfer information. Fears. Give humans a reason to stare out of a window in the middle of the night with no recollection as to why. He likes to think Dalia is pleased with this evolution – a job with more finesse – and he would be lying to pretend he was not pleased, himself.
𝕻𝖘𝖞𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖔𝖌𝖞:
One might expect Douglas to be an unkind soul given his duties, and how he seems to enjoy them, and one would not be entirely incorrect. Humans are life-size pawns to the Ambrose siblings and Douglas is no different, he simply has more fun than any of his quasi-immortal counterparts. Douglas also has the benefit of having acclimated to the times far better than any of his siblings. With biting sarcasm and a general disdain for self-righteousness, Douglas is certainly the most actively malicious of the Ambrose siblings – in conversation, that is.
ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: sporting, constant, meticulous, discerning, brilliant
ℕ𝕖𝕘𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: pedantic, sarcastic, disputatious, dismissive, arrogant
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘:
The Ambrose Family: Douglas works closest with Laurence and Keith, but he enjoys working with Dalia and Morana more – meddling with the hands of fate, with their permission, is endlessly enticing – and on the rare occasion, an odd job for Alexander pops up and he’s more than happy to indulge. Zoe, however, Douglas would enjoy never having to see as he finds her to be unbearably grating.
Oria Ambrose: His human-born sister of chaos. The sister the rest of the family loathes. Douglas quite likes that Oria is the black sheep, never falling in line with the family, always out of step with the hands of fate. Chaos. She is not caught up in the daily workings of humans and Douglas finds her conversation refreshing.
Curtis Williams: Orunmila. If Dalia was not so adamant about the man being an asset, Douglas may have told him off already, but he refrains – in the presence of his eldest sister, at least. Something about the seemingly kind façade of a deity that has been on earth since its inception rings terribly false to Douglas.

ROYCE DAUMANTAS | 𝔾ℝ𝔼𝔼𝕂 | HEPHAESTUS
Appears: 43 ◆ Type: Fire, Sculpture, & Metalworking ◆ Occupation: Architect
𝕭𝖎𝖔𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖕𝖍𝖞:
An unplanned pregnancy brought Royce into the world, but his parents could not have been happier when his big blue eyes opened for the first time. The Daumantas family had been itching for grandchildren and Royce was welcomed with open arms. He was provided the best education in the city -- cozying up to future political leaders, doctors, and lawyers while proving his own talents as a mathematician and artist.
As expected in the formative years of any child’s life, Royce was teased and ridiculed, both for his archaic name and his stature. The boy maintained a close-knit friend group and a healthy home life, however, ensuring the walls he built to survive bullying did not need to remain standing long.
But evil can never truly be shut out.
It wasn’t until Royce had his first position at an architecture firm that he truly understood the evil of humans. Knowing it to be a horrendous idea to cross a Daumantas, no one dared confront Royce directly, but office gossip has a way of spreading like wildfire. Talk of false hiring pretenses and preferential treatment clung to cubicle walls like decrepit moss, all but forcing Royce to resign so he could leave the toxic atmosphere poisoning him to forge out on his own. He opened his own firm and within three years had enough capital and market share to force his former employer’s hand. Royce bought them out.
𝕻𝖘𝖞𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖔𝖌𝖞:
Royce is kind and noble, even as an executive. He much prefers avoiding confrontation and has gone to great lengths to ensure each person he hires for his firm will work well within the environment he has created. There are enough cutthroat-friendly employers in the world; Royce refuses to be one of them. The hands-on approach Royce takes to everything does not necessarily aid in running the most prominent modern architectural firm in the city -- as he is continually exhausted -- but Royce takes too much pride in his projects to sit back and watch.
ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: kind, appreciative, gentle, creative, balanced
ℕ𝕖𝕘𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: hesitant, guarded, resentful, cautious, escapist
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘:
Bastian Wolfram: Having met at a fundraiser at Columbia for one of Bastian’s many sponsored trips, Royce keeps in contact with the man to hear about his adventures even if he, himself, knows little to nothing about the ocean. Bastian is a kind spirit who loves to introduce his students to the wonders of the world below the surface and in exchange for prattling on about the ocean, Royce regales him with stories about his new projects.
Lucian Antanasov: It was hardly unexpected that Hades would appear in the form of a wealthy recluse and Royce was admittedly amused by the revelation. Hardly friend, but not enemies, Royce is one of the few people allowed in Lucian’s inner circle and he does not mind the near-silent dinners or far-too-exuberant gatherings that make up the dichotomous life of Lucian.
Candace Idrani: While Royce is a gentle, non-confrontational person, there is something about having to interact with Candace that turns him cold. She is the antithesis of Royce and though some say opposites attract, Royce and Candace are better off apart. A fairly impossible feat seeing as she is a partner at the law firm that represents Royce’s firm in all legal matters.

Are the Gods succesptible to human deaths and illnesses? Like the Flu and being shot, etc? Including the Ambrose(s).
Thank you for asking! They are, indeed.
Most were born human, so they have lived human lives, have human weaknesses, and are absolutely able to catch the flu. As the Powers & Abilities posts hit the dash, you’ll see that some gods will start to see these weaknesses diminish in one way or another and others will be able to counteract things like illness or physical wounds (at a cost, of course).
With the Ambroses -- and any other deity sent to earth and not born human, for that matter -- things are a little different (excluding Oria Ambrose since she was born human). They will not be susceptible to human illnesses. This is not to say that a powerful deity like Babaluaye, for instance, could not conjure up a new plague that would impact them. They just have more at their disposal to avoid the nuisance of illness.
All in all, it’s probably a good idea to go ahead and get a healing deity on your side. [insert cheeky wink here]
I hope that helps.
ELODIA FENTON | 𝔼𝔾𝕐ℙ𝕋𝕀𝔸ℕ | SESHAT
Appears: 29 ◆ Type: Wisdom & Writing ◆ Occupation: Assistant Curator of Literary and Historical Manuscripts at The Morgan Library
𝕭𝖎𝖔𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖕𝖍𝖞:
A little girl from Harlem with dreams of living down in Midtown where there seemed to be endless stores of information, Elodia could never shake the feeling she was destined for so much more than people could understand. Granted, she could hardly grasp the extent to which she was correct for the majority of her adolescence. It never ceased to excite her, however. Being at the cusp of discovery for so long was exhilarating.
Without the funds to attend university, Elodia did everything in her power to ensure she would be awarded the full allotted need and merit based scholarships available. Scholarships for the classics are always highly selective, after all, and Elodia could not risk squandering her vision of a future just because she did not stand out among applicants.
The world needs its keeper of language.
Curatorial duties have always come easy to Elodia and in her final years of study -- while writing her doctoral dissertation -- The Morgan Library invited her to design a new cataloging system for their literary and historical manuscripts. Its complex and intricate nature, while a true work of genius, all but obligated the institution to offer her a position on their curatorial staff. She has been at home ever since.
𝕻𝖘𝖞𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖔𝖌𝖞:
Language and the intricacies of it have been Elodia’s closest confidants for as long as she can remember. The written word molds to her every whim, no matter how demanding or otherwise unreasonable. She has always felt most comfortable around language, subtle physical cues often escaping her eye. Though gifted with an innate ability to understand the complexities of language and its uses, Elodia is quite literal more often than not and can misinterpret nuances like sarcasm easily if she is not paying close enough attention.
ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: inquisitive, exuberant, caring, brilliant, and understanding
ℕ𝕖𝕘𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: ritualistic, cautious, literal, sanctimonious, and reserved
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘:
Pomona Torres: On the off chance Elodia has time or feels the pull toward Elysium, which is rare mind you, Pomona is the first person she seeks out. The club has a weird vibe to say the least, but Elodia cannot help but enjoy being in the company of like-minded individuals.
Zoe Ambrose: Elodia spent a fair amount of time in Trinity during her undergraduate and graduate studies, quite enjoying the silence that permeated the expansive building. She never became quite as close with the reclusive Ambrose siblings as with Zoe, however. Their exuberance and wits match perfectly and the pair became fast friends, often found giggling somewhere in stack of literature much to the elder Ambrose siblings’ dismay.
Najib Tannous: Sometimes Elodia notices Najib as he wanders through Trinity. Occasionally she’ll even notice him casting a long glance in her direction, but she tries not to think on it. He lies somewhere between creepy and intriguing, but approaching a man who makes a habit of staring at her has never been high on her list.

ZANE CARLISLE | 𝕎𝔼𝕊𝕋 𝔸𝔽ℝ𝕀𝐂𝔸ℕ | AGANGÚ
Appears: 40 ◆ Type: Sun & Volcanoes ◆ Occupation: Chief of Police
𝕭𝖎𝖔𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖕𝖍𝖞:
It takes a certain type of person to work on the force for the entirety of their career, but Zane is one of those rare types. A transplant from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Zane grew up hearing of the terrors in New York in the form of serial dramas and police procedurals. Unlike his brothers, Zane never romanticized being a detective or other ‘do-gooder;’ he much preferred the unknown and unnamed people working in the prisons who were tasked with handling the scum of the earth.
Talked out of becoming a prison guard by his rightfully concerned parents, Zane followed his siblings onto the force, but he knew, unlike his siblings, he would never be content until he was in control of the way criminals were dealt with in his city. This innate need to change the world at its most base level manifested in the drive that got him through a masters in public administration and the subsequent fifteen years moving up through the ranks before snatching the reigns from the former Chief of Police.
Change and war have one thing in common: casualties.
Conceding to a person one believes is beneath them never comes easy, but Zane could not find it in him to care what the former Chief of Police thought so long as his office was empty by the time Zane needed to be there. It was not a pretty succession, but no one on the force could argue with Zane at the head. Ruthless and domineering as he may be, Zane got things done and cleaned up the department within months.
𝕻𝖘𝖞𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖔𝖌𝖞:
Empathy is not Zane’s strong suit and no one who has ever come across the man would make the mistake of believing so. Zane strongly believes no one is above the law and everyone will receive what they deserve in due time, so taking justice into one’s own hands or thwarting the efforts of the universe are unforgivable. Granted, he no longer sees to the enforcement of such rigid justice directly, but he has made a point to keep only the best on his force and cut the rest.
ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: dynamic, confident, steadfast, ambitious, challenging
ℕ𝕖𝕘𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖: critical, opportunistic, suspicious, intolerant, and asocial
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘:
Deandre Sherman: The DA is a close friend of Zane’s, but that does not mean the two are any kinder to each other when working. At the end of the day the District Attorney and his ADAs can make or break a case and, for Zane, there is nothing worse than watching someone else squander his hard work. He makes it known if he doesn’t like an ADA and has on more than one occasion been the reason someone has been fired.
Tarana Prasad: Zane hates the Bureau, plain and simple. The FBI are the bane of his existence more often than not when they try to take jurisdiction from him or one of his captains. Though she takes cases off of his desk, lightening the load on the force, he is still hard pressed to ever let her leave without an earful about the folly of the FBI.
Oria Ambrose: The Ambrose sibling that is often useful as a consultant, Oria has made herself a valuable resource to Zane and he calls on her when he needs her expertise or if he needs a recommendation on a reliable scientist for a case. It is easy to tell she is uneasy around him occasionally, but most people are so Zane is hardly bothered by it.

Do the Gods know who each other are?
That’s a wonderful question. Usually, I’ve outlined that in their bios down in the connections section to make it easier, but the rule of thumb is no. There are a few deities that fall under the “all knowing” and “primordial” category, but most of them do not have their full range of powers and are not strong enough to know everything yet.
In short: if you are not sure if your character knows another person’s deity, they probably don’t. Always come at the interactions as human first, deity second.
The only time this is different, is with the Ambrose siblings. If you have a Greek deity, they are probably aware -- at least to some degree -- of the Ambrose name and what it entails even if they’re not entirely sure about who they are. The only caveat is with Oria Ambrose. She’s the black sheep and most would be surprised to learn she’s an Ambrose, so most don’t know about her or who she is.
That was long-winded, but I hope it helped.
