Thanksgiving at the castle is as crazy as you’d expect. Here are some highlights!
We always make extra food because of Kirby, Gooey, and King Dedede, though we seemed to be missing some turkeys and pies before we’d even set the table. No one mentioned it, but there was some suspicious giggling…
The Meta-Knights always eat on the Halberd, but Meta Knight dropped off some of Mace Knight’s famous cornbread! It also went “mysteriously” missing…
Meta Knight wasn’t the only one to visit. Our other friends dropped by too! Well, most of them.
Ribbon doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving and was attending a festival on her home planet.
Prince Fluff doesn’t celebrate it either and had royal duties to attend to.
Dark Meta Knight assuming he is our friend… Well, I don’t actually know what he was doing. Maybe he was back in the Mirror World.
Adeleine was very focused on making the pie crusts as gorgeous as possible. Very focused. It was like everything else turned invisible for her. They turned out amazing, but it took a while to calm her down when she realized that half of her creations were gone. Kirby, Gooey, and the Great King finally fessed up out of guilt and helped her make more pies.
They almost burned down the kitchen in the process, but it’s the thought that counts.
Marx and Magolor baked us…something. No one was quite sure what, but even Kirby didn’t want to try it.
When Susie came by, she asked if she could have it to “run some tests.” We were happy to get rid of it.
When The Great King announced that it was time to say grace, Gooey started screaming the word “grace” over and over. We tried to ignore him, but eventually His Majesty got fed up and yelled, “Screw grace! Just pass me the goddamned turkey!”
After dinner, Kirby and Gooey disappeared. We found Kirby under the table and Gooey - I’m not making this up - stuck to the ceiling. Both were asleep.
Gooey woke up when he stopped sticking. He then asked if there was any pie left. There wasn’t.
Kirby woke up about ten minutes ago and asked if there was any pie left. There still wasn’t.
Meanwhile, King Dedede passed out while still sitting at the table! That was three hours ago, and he’s still there. We’ve been making bets on when he’ll wake up. I say tomorrow morning.
I love this holiday. Sure, things get a little crazy, but these people are my family, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything! I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving (or whatever you celebrate) as much as I enjoyed mine!
