Now, that was a complete insult, and it was more than likely clear that the both of them knew it. Gotham was many things, there was grime, there was dust, and there was death. It was what gave it flavor, but it was changing. Or so Bruce thought it was.
If this had been simply Bruce Wayne and John Constantine, there would have been a few jokes tossed around, and some laughter. Yet, this wasnât ---- it was Batman and the Hellblazer.Â
An insult to the city as a whole was an insult to everything he stood for or even was ---- it wasnât something that was decent, it was despicable, and it was something the defender of the city wouldnât stand for. If he was being honest with himself, it would have taken seconds just to calm down, and ignore everything the other said.
However, that would mean personally admitting that Constantine was indeed correct, and that was something he couldnât do. In this persona of his, he couldnât admit that he might have been right, but rather, Bruce had to prove that he was completely wrong, and the only way to do that was simple; violence.Â
As such, with out warning, Bruce moved to grasp Constantine's tie firmly before moving to slam him right into the wall with as much force as possible ---- it was going to hurt, that much was clear as day. It wasnât just a warning... it was a full out act that the other had managed to step over boundaries.
âNever INSULT my city, Hellblazer.â Â
