I have to know, do they let Leon retire somewhere warm when he gets up in age considering his lifespan is so long that he gets to 120? 🥺

I love his old man design so much, I can't help but think when he gets really old he probably can't move so good in the Alaska base anymore due to the cold, so like he should be allowed to just sun himself on a nice rock!

Here's a quick doodle of him taking a small break while out on a walk for ya! As well as some tidbits.

-So at this age, Leon is finally allowed to live at the military base in Arizona. The cold winters of Alaska were really starting to affect him negatively, especially with his advancing age, and his joints would constantly flare in pain when the temperature dropped.

-He doesn't go out on missions anymore, but if there's an emergency or a rookie agent needs rescuing, Leon will respond without hesitation.

-The majority of the clothes he wears are still the same ones that Ashley made for him several decades ago. Leon still tries to keep them in good condition and repair them the best he can, but it's hard to find the right materials to fix them nowadays....

-Leon spends most of days just enjoying his retirement and looking after Sherry, her kids, and their grandchildren, which can honestly be quite the handful.

Read that Leon had a sketchbook and was the one who designed his gun Matilda. SO I latched onto that idea like a chubby kid at a cake factory and had to draw a doodle of Leon drawing!

For me personally, I think he would be pretty good at it. Guns are a BITCH to draw, so him being able to design one tells me he's gotta at least have some skill. I also bet he doesn't think he's talented (even though he is) and is shy about showing his drawings, so he usually only draws when he's alone in his room.

((Luis finds out about this and finds Leon shyness about it both adorable and a little sad. He wants Leon to feel comfortable about his hobby so he'll buy Leon sketchbooks and pencils, sometimes leaving them in his room for him to find.))

((After that, a lot of Luis and Leon's notes to each other have small doodles on them, and one of Luis's desks drawers is CRAMMED with these notes. He never throws them out and keeps every single one.))

((Funny enough, Rucio likes to watch Leon draw. The little bug finds the whole process fascinating. Way later on in the AU, Rucio asks Leon if he can control their hand to try and draw, and Leon agrees, trusting Rucio completely at this point. It's also the first time EVER Rucio has taken control, and even then, hes only using Leon's arm and hand. Rucio manages to draw a cat, it's absolutely terrible, but the Rucio has a ton of fun and Leon can't help but feel amused and endeared by the by the bug's enthusiasm.))

I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

i know im really late to the party (i always am) but i just watched project hail mary yesterday (and im nearly done with the book!) and oh my god oh my god oh my god it is crazy to be instantly into something so hard, and then go online and see EVERYONE ELSE TALKING ABOUT IT TOO!! my mothers friend (50 year old woman) knew what i was talking about when i mentioned it! Like maybe this is just a Me Problem but liking something so much and having it be super popular is really really rare ngl. its great

Grace spent days watching rocky. The eridians became worried about him.

The first week, he slept right next to Rocky.

The next, he slept in his bed, returning to rockys side every morning.

After that, he decided to just stay in bed.

He lost weight. Not a lot, but enough for Armando to put an IV in for nutrients.

His eyes became dull and tired. His hair became matted. His house became untidy.

He never changed his clothes. He hardly showered.

He skipped classes, allowing them to watch the videos he had been recording.

Everyone noticed.

Adrian grieved for a while. They held a celebration of life for Rocky, he went through grief, and he finally decided to go to grace so they could bury the body.

He entered the home and spotted Rocky, in a xenonite suit, with a quilt over top of him. He then spotted Grace, in bed, with no blanket.

He can't have that.

He understood how much Rocky meant to grace, and how much grace meant to Rocky. This accident wasn't going to end both their lifes.

Adrian cleaned up the home, bathed grace, listened. It took days, but grace got up, ate, started taking care of himself.

Grace felt guilty for being so.. messed up about it. He constantly apologized to Adrian, who would simply respond "it's okay. I fix."

It was a quiet burial. They took the xenonite suit off of Rocky and placed him in the sand. Grace stuck a metal plate at the head, engraved with "grace say grace will die. Rocky fix."

They sat at the shore together.

"were you there? For him?" Grace asked.

"yes. Watched him." Adrian responded.

That made grace a little more okay with it.

I am thoroughly enjoying this new trend of crossovers of project Hail Mary with evey space media ever—Star Trek, Iron Lung, Superman, etc!!

With that said, might I suggest Predator Badlands…it’s also a (mostly) recent movie, set in space, and the dynamics between all the characters would be very interesting to explore!

Insanely funny to watch project hail mary with my grandpa. He was super excited to talk about it after (especially the sci-fi stuff) but like, after the initial "hope is so cool humanity is so cool" my immediate next thought was "I bet the monsterfuckers love this one. Good for them"

Do you guys think once eridians learn what humans look like gracefully essentially becomes their blueprint for like. Their equivalent of little green men with big black eyes. Like he becomes the stereotypical "alien" form. And like. They make little toys that look like him. There's kids with alien themed birthday parties where the erid-equivalent of balloons are like a shitty shape of grace. Every human in every eridian scifi novel wears glasses because they just assumed they all have those. Like. I love grace as a beloved teacher and scientist and savior of worlds with his face on statues and monuments but like. What if his face what on shitty tourist traps too.

Eva Stratt sucks. But she did what she had to do. That doesn’t excuse it, doesnt make it okay. It makes her honourable. She sacrificed her own morality so that some people could live. She did horrible things to save humanity.

I’m tired of people depicting her as either “Super mean awful person who shouldn’t have done any of that. Pure evil she is.” OR “The world was ending she haddd toooo she didn’t do anything wrong she was forced to do all of thatttt!!!” Like no she is not ‘pure evil’ but she did do awful things. To save humanity, yes, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that she killed people. She destroyed ecosystems. She forced a man to go on a suicide mission bcs she knew he was too good to not do it. None of this was ‘the right thing to do’. None of it was ontologically evil. These two things can be true at the same time.

Idea. We always see in the Bloodymary fandom Simon thinking Grace is an angel but what if Grace at first thinks Eldritch Simon as a biblically accurate angel at first?

I have seen glimpses of phm Ryland Grace being turned/reborn/made into an eridian to extend his life or some-such-similar-reason.

And I propose.

Since Eridian brains seem better with memory and such.

(I wonder if, because their brains are basically a big crystal, the reason their memory is so good is because it literally gets carved into the crystal so they can revisit it whenever with no problem.)

Imagine they manage to basically transfer Grace's consciousness into crystal brain into Eridian body.

and suddenly Grace is one of the smartest bitches on Erid (not that he wasn't already smart, or that the Eridians didn't already view him as smart, but now they have an easier way to comprehend how smart he is) because he no longer has the feeble flaws of a human brain with it's weird memory and stuff.

Rocky when Grace is human: This is my very smart, squishy alien friend.

Rocky when Grace becomes an Eridian and can finally properly chatter about Science: holy shit, Grace is a very smart fucking Nerd.
