What about the rest of us Black people no happy black History Month to us? 😭

I just saw a similar comment under the post and honestly did not think anyone would care.

I emphasise Black American followers because this is their holiday and month. Just wanted to give Black Americans a shout out on their month since I know the significance of the month means so much due to the horrific history of African Americans and the continuous discrimination of all black people in America.

Of course I pray for all Black people but I wanted to focus on them as I would for my Black UK followers in October even if the feeling is mutual (not the correct term but lack of words rn).

Also I myself am not American, I'm Australian so I do feel a disconnect to the holiday since to me, February is just my birthday month, no other significance. And I imagine this is a shared feeling amongst Black people who didn't grow up with Black History Month.
