The next day “Good morning, how do you feel?” from him is so telling. Of course there is a potential +15 approval in that scene, but also, he has been trusted, seen as more than some “monster”.

Even though he says later in the game how trusting him was an objectively stupid thing to do, he clearly appreciated it greatly and it lead to development of relationship between him and Tav.
