If he didn’t have to order their drinks, Avery would have taken that exact moment to lean in and kiss her. She was alluring. Still– play it cool. Slowly tearing his eyes away from hers, he leaned over the bar towards one of the tenders. It took a few moments to garner their attention– the crowd nearly crawling over– but then the guy finally came his way. The order was finished with a handshake that left the bartender’s hand with a fifty dollar bill. What? Avery didn’t know how to properly tip, didn’t care. He had the money.
“So… you come here often? The bouncer certainly seems to recognize you.”
“Yup,” Darlynn replied, “I’ve got a friend who works here; totally amazing, but I don’t think she’s dancing tonight.” That, she would admit, was a shame. Since her first meeting with Fraus, she had become a regular patron of this fine establishment. Though, not for the purposes Avery may have thought she was here for.
“This is like, my first choice of entertainment and drinks. I don’t really go anywhere else unless this place is super packed. Not like now; this is the usual for it.” There, she paused. She was rambling on about this place, but making no progression in getting Avery where she wanted him. She would have pouted, had their drinks not arrived just in the nick of time. If her stomach could growl anymore, it’d be singing the songs of its people right about now. “Oh, goodie, I’m so thirsty.”
