Glossary (WIP)
Yanderemorph: A catch-all term for someone of a different dere type who has turned yandere due to intense emotional and psychological trauma. The reason this happens is unknown, but itâs hypothesized that it is the result of an ancient biological safeguard from the prehistoric era, back when yandere tribes first began abducting darlings. Because of the radical bodily changes down to the DNA that occur when a person transforms into a yanderemorph, 75% die of shock before itâs complete, but those who survive are a force to be reckoned with.
Type I Mindbreak: Typically the result of being isolated too long, a darling will create a fantasy world in their mind and disappear into it. They may sometimes act out small actions, or speak to no one. The prognosis is actually not too bad; simply removing them from their yandere and surrounding them with reminders of their past life will eventually rouse them, but it takes a long time.
Type II Mindbreak: Also called Servitorâs Syndrome or The Event Horizon. This is what occurs when a darling becomes so submissive and obedient due to punishments and degradation without any affection that they become convinced theyâre just slaves and unworthy of their yandereâs love. If a Yandere attempts to do romantic actions, the darling will have a massive panic attack and faint. The prognosis isnât as good as with type I, but it is possible to snap them out of it by removing them from their yandere and putting them through a TON of therapy. Even after they recover, theyâll always have permanently low self esteem.
Type III Mindbreak: Essentially a more severe version of Type II, and usually occurs after intense and nonstop emotional abuse and insults with no affection. The darling will fall into a delusion that theyâre evil/an abomination/etc. and that theyâve tricked their perfect yanderes into loving them. Theyâll do anything they can to get their yanderes to fall out of love, which can get dangerous if left unchecked. Theyâll quickly escalate from trying to be annoying to severely mutilating themselves so theyâll no longer be attractive to their yanderes. The prognosis is very grim; the chances of them ever being able to function properly again is unlikely.
Type IV Mindbreak: The most common type of mindbreak and the most difficult to detect, due to uneducated yanderes simply believing the victims have become obedient. Victims of this type will robotically follow orders from their yandere, and remain idle when their duties have been carried out. Diagnosing this type of mindbreak involves the doctor asking the darling a series of questions.
Type VIII Mindbreak: Very common in trained and obedient darlings whose hearts were somehow broken by their yanderes. Patients of this type are the most dangerous to others around them and should be regarded with extreme caution by their caretakers. Patients will act very erratically around yanderes, alternating between various extreme emotional states known as âmodesâ. Some of the modes include Aggression (extreme rage, very violent in this stage, will attack their yanderes), Depression (crying, asking their yandere why they would do this), Sadistic (Will cruelly insult their yanderes and laugh at their reactions) and Default (sitting inertly). Punishments donât affect them at all. There is so far no cure for this type of mindbreak.
Type IX Mindbreak: Also called âMind Deathâ. The darling will essentially become a breathing doll, never thinking or reacting. The only way to properly diagnose this type of mindbreak is via a CT scan. In all darlings with Type IX Mindbreak, the scans will show that their brains have completely shut down except for the parts required to keep the body alive. To this day, there has never been a darling who has been roused from this condition.
Type X Mindbreak: This is the absolute worst type of mindbreak. After becoming totally unresponsive, which usually occurs after too long of overly harsh treatment, the darlingâs organs will break down over the course of a week or until they die. The prognosis is a 0% survival rate; once a darling is diagnosed with this type of mindbreak, thereâs no bringing them back. The only merciful thing to do is euthanize them and get it over with. Some superstitious types believe that when a darling gets Type X Mindbreak, itâs because their soul has departed, and their body is just being slow to accompany them. In most countries, yanderes are imprisoned for life if their darlings die of Type X Mindbreak.
Clanning: The act of a group of yanderes agreeing to band together to form a Clan, a practice that has existed since ancient times. They share living spaces, resources and sometimes darlings.
