Chimney Sweeps

On Wednesday, the chimney sweep came to my apartment at 7:30 am. I don't have a chimney. Nevertheless it is required in most apartment buildings that a chimney sweep come to your home and do whatever a chimney sweep does.

In my case, he looked at my water heater, and told me to call the water heater company to get an "abgasmessung" which is overdue by two years. 

Apparently it is also good luck to kiss a chimney sweep around the new year.

Side note: This article explains that they've now removed the ladder from the logo, because people are now required to have ladders ready for the chimney sweep, so he won't have to bring his own.
