30 years of flying Falcons.
In 1967 I saw my first Falcon, a 20 at Teterboro airport. I thought that it was the most beautiful aircraft I had ever seen and I wondered if it flew as good as it looked. After 30+ years of flying almost every model, the answer is a resounding "YES". One of the remarkable aspects of the Falcon series of aircraft, is the almost seamless transition from one model to the next. Handling characteristics are typical Falcon, meaning that they are a pure joy to fly. As technology advanced, Dassault did not compromise the handling in any way, and the changes that were made, only seem to improve the flight and handling characteristics. In the last 30 some years and 20,000 hrs., I have operated Falcon Jets all over the world and their reliability has been exceptional. In those years, my maintenance and support from Dassault have been superb, with a launch reliability of 98%. Because of the smoothness of flight, low noise level, and low systems work load, fatigue was reduced and made flight planning a snap. It has been my honor and joy having been able to have spent the majority of my career flying your wonderful airplanes.

50 YEARS OF FAMILY
I have over 300 hours in the cockpit of a Falcon 10. I was based in Texas at the time and could fly to either coast non-stop in less than 3 hours. The “Ready to go at 10 below” photo was taken at Outagamie County Regional Airport in Appleton, WI. Our flight originated out of Covington, GA in the day before where temps in the 60’s were quite nice for a January. Bad winter weather was coming the next day but was forecast to come late afternoon. By 4 PM in Appleton, WI it was 10 below with light snow. A big snow storm rapidly approaching. At 3 PM, we were in a meeting in Wrightstown, WI about 60 minutes North of the airport considering we were driving back in snow. At 4:08 PM, we were wheels up. At 4:30 PM, we were at 38,000 feet over Chicago with a ground speed of 528 mph! And only 1 hr and 15 minutes to our destination Covington, GA which is just outside of Atlanta. Jet Management Europe is a privately owned aircraft management company based at Schiphol in the Netherlands. The company was founded in 1998 by Gert van der Beek and Geert Hulshof, so this year we are proudly celebrating our 15th anniversary. Throughout the years we’ve operated 15 aircraft on a world-wide commercial license (Air Operator Certificate) for private owners and corporations. Among them were the Falcon 20F-5BR, Falcon 2000, Falcon 900A, B, C and EX models. At this moment we operate three Falcon 900 aircraft. The Falcons are beautiful aircraft to photograph, but just from the cockpit you get occasionally visual gifts. The landscape over which we fly, an impressive cumulonimbus cloud, lightning strikes, Northern light, sunset, the beautiful colors of the desert of Yemen, the view on the Himalaya and passing aircraft with their contrails are favorite topics to photograph. We visited 48 countries and over 600 destinations so every crew member is in a unique position to explore the world. Our Falcons takes us to many special and photogenic locations like; the Amazon in South America, Rain Forrest in Suriname, Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Chinese Wall, Taj Mahal and tea plantations in Indonesia. There is always plenty to see and to do. Many crew member has two awesome hobbies: flying Falcons and photography. We congratulate Dassault Aviation with its 50th anniversary and thank her for the design and production of beautiful aircraft and for the many years of excellent guidance and support. Since 1946, PacMin has specialized in model aircraft and marketing services. Over the years, our models have served as celebratory mementos for numerous events. But on September 11, 2011 airplane models became a symbol of hope and remembrance for the PacMin team. In 2001, Dassault Falcon Jet commissioned us to produce a 1/4 scale model of the Falcon 7X. Dassault planned to unveil their new jet at the upcoming NBAA Show to be held in New Orleans. When it was finished, the jet was stunning and ready for its debut. It measured 19ft (5.8m) in length and had an impressive 21.5ft (6.6m) wingspan. It was moved to a final assembly area on September 10, 2001 where we had planned an event the following day to thank everyone who had worked tirelessly on this project. The next day, September 11, 2001, the event took on a more somber note. We all arrived at work with deep sadness, dismay, and bewilderment at the events that unfolded in New York City, Washington D.C. and a field in Pennsylvania. We gathered around the 7X model holding hands in a moment of silence for those who died or lost loved ones. Our CEO then asked us to reflect on the work of art we had just created and let it be an inspiration to celebrate all that is possible and beautiful in this world. The Dassault Falcon 7X model became a living symbol to the PacMin team of what can be achieved with teamwork, passion and understanding. And that day, it was a powerful contrast to the many losses and images of destruction that were manifest on September 11, 2001.
At the opening session of the 58th annual Business Aviation Safety Seminar, in April, Matthew Boyle was recognized with the Flight Safety Foundation’s Business Aviation Meritorious Service Award for his decades of work in safety. Mr. Boyle was nominated by his colleagues for this award in recognition of his expertise in safety and his willingness to share his knowledge within Dassault, as well as throughout the industry via his work on various committees and other groups. “The Flight Safety Foundation facilitates the sharing of safety information,” stated Kevin Hiatt, FSF President and CEO. “Matthew Boyle thinks the same way. He has not only supported the highest safety standard at his own company, but throughout the industry. We are honored to present him with this award.” Matthew Boyle worked for Dassault Falcon Jet Corporation for over 30 years, serving as Senior Vice President & General Counsel before he retired. Boyle was an U.S. Air Force pilot flying the F-4 Phantom fighter jet, and after two tours of duty became an F-4 instructor pilot at Luke AFB in Arizona. He later joined the New York State Air National Guard, serving for sixteen years before eventually retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1989.
