Hello! I am like Gandalf, in that my attention wanders all over the place and I have a tendency to walk out of projects halfway through because there's something interesting going on over there and I've gotta check it out/there's a fiery chasm demon I gotta kill real quick. I love all things Arda (which is mostly what you'll find on here) but, whenever my wandering brain lets me focus on things, I like to write Tolkien fics and think about Gondor. I enjoy resurrecting Tolkien's female characters, rage and grief, overuse of parentheses, and unromantic discussions about love and marriage. Loving the Dol Amroth family is as close as I come to specialising.

I have once again been collecting tags from dear mutuals, including @amorbidcorvid, @starshadeemilyart, @riding-with-the-wild-hunt, @ecofutural, @ffigwit, @starspray, @bad-writer, @slashmarks. Tagging you all back, plus @holy-marmalade, @ulmondil @sallysavestheday @vaciena @isilme-among-the-stars, @feyandferal and @vefanyar to share a snippet from a WIP whenever you like.
This is from the Arien/Elwing at the end of the world WIP, which @feyandferal has nicknamed "Reverse Icarus" 😂.
At the End, when Morgoth, cloaked in doom, came forth through the Door out of the Timeless Night and into the world, it was the Sun he sought before aught else. And in secret, he crept upon the golden galleon with its fruit like quivering flames of amber, and the maidens of that vessel perceived him not, nor his purpose, until at last his shadow overtook them in the fullness of day. And he swung down his hammer with all his new-gathered strength, a blow that smote Sun and ship to utter ruin.
What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening. If kindness used to come with a price, kindness can feel suspicious. So healing is not just “they know they’re safe now.” Healing is the slow, annoying, deeply unfair process of teaching the body that the old prediction is not always the present truth.
Who is your favorite character without any dialogue?
Non human characters or characters who would be physically unable to speak for any reason (they’re a baby, they’re mentioned only once, they’re a mountain peak you consider a character etc) are included!
Use your best judgment as to whether someone counts. I know there are a couple characters who have dialogue only in Tolkien’s footnotes or letters and I will leave that up to you if that counts!
"Your personality comes from the way you were parented" "Your personality is inate and genetic" wrong!!!!! your personality comes from that one piece of media you were unhealthily and irreversibly obsessed with when you were 13 years old
