i recently finished reading this wonderful novel! i admit that it took me much longer than it should have, but i'm so glad i committed to finishing it.

the novel follows a family haunted by the ghost of a dead daughter and explores the generational trauma left by slavery. its prose is gorgeous, and the emotions it explores are so poignant. i think this is a must read.

this is my first tony morrison novel, and it definitely left me wanting to read more of her work!
