“What will NY152 say today, I wonder. I turn on my computer. I wait impatiently as it connects. I go online — and my breath catches in my chest until I hear three little words: “You’ve got mail.” I hear nothing, not even a sound on the streets of New York. Just the beat of my own heart. I have mail. From you.”

TEST: Find The One That Resembles You The Most, And We Will Tell You Your Inner Traits
The blob tree test by famous British psychologist Pip Wilson depicts a tree on which there are several illustrated people depicted in various moods and activity. I don’t know how to recommend Unicorn Store. Like, I don’t think it was made to appeal to everyone. But if you’re that specific kind of person that it was made for, then it is absolutely wonderful.
Here is my best pitch: Unicorn Store is a film for people who desperately wish the world was really as magical as they thought it was when they were young. Because the world being that magical would make up for the fact that they themselves are that broken.
I loved it so much! I related to Kit so much. What a magical film. And I’ll admit, it broke me down to tears.
And a bonus helping it, (for me at least) is that it’s so colorful and whimsical and leans into that rainbows and art and unicorns and Care Bears kind of fantasy. Honestly, that kind of sincere, unapologetically feminine view of the world that the new She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is also tapping into. (HAH, you thought I could get through a post without mentioning She-Ra, you FOOLS!)
“You’re gonna love her, exactly how she is. Even when she thinks that there is nobody who could love her in the whole world.”

ALSO, I want to take a moment to appreciate Virgil, played by the utterly charming Mamoudou Athie. I hope everyone finds their “Virgil”. Someone who accepts and appreciates all the ways you’re different, someone who won’t give up on you even when you don’t make it easy.
