• Okay. . . Being Junkrat's Partner wasn't always the easiest for you.
• This was his first serious relationship and he hadn't quite learned relationship social clues . . . or any clues for that matter, on what to pick up as romantic and genuine.
• He gets flirting no problem but genuine affection still goes over his head by a long shot.
• Of course you still love him and you're patient with his unintentionally dismissal of your pursuits but it's nothing you can't handle!
• Just means you're going to have to be a lot more . . . forward and "in your face" about how you show affection.
• At least that's what you thought. *Sigh*
• It started off with you giving him "gifts" or items you'd steal from heists that you thought he would like. Of course it wasn't anything too personal given your limited options on things to snatch while running away from the authorities. Though each thing you'd snag was intended to be for him!
• However upon giving him your trove of stolen goods he'd simply smile and pat your side and throw your gifts into the endless pile of other stolen loot as you scrambled to get the items back. Of course Junkrat wasn't trying to be dismissive he just genuinely thought you were going above and beyond for the mission.
• Junkrat *internally* : Ain't (Y/N) just a good little nabber! Takin' this job so seriously for the Queens loot!
• So that was a bust. Your next approach involved subtlety leaving gifts for Junkrat that were a bit more personalized this time. If he needed some materials for explosives, he never ran out anymore. Was missing a few tools and do-dads? Suddenly his workshop had tons of extras and a bunch of organizing drawers as well (not like he cared to really organize anything tho. . .). Needed some Boba? Buy the stars you were gonna personally order any flavor he wanted and make sure Junkrat was always stocked.
• This time for sure you thought he was gonna notice . . . but alas no. Sure he had some suspicions but it never really stayed in his head for too long as he would find something else to distract his mind.
• At some point you started just walking up to him randomly giving him stuff you thought he'd like or things he said he needed and just . . . idk standing there and waiting for a response.
• (Y/N): Hey babe. . .*Shoves gift in his hands* I got this for you okay? . . FOR! YOU! *stares*
• Junkrat: . . . . Okay! :D *proceeds to hobble off*
• (Y/N) *Internal screaming*
• It took Roadie to see you sulking once more in defeat on the couch for him to say something to Jamie.
Roadhog: You know . . .(Y/N) loves you right?
Junkrat: Of course I know that!!! *Dreamy sigh* I love em too!
Roadhog: *Tired sigh as he points at the gift in Junkrat's hand* (Y/N) loves you. . right?? *this time saying it more firmly*
Junkrat: *Realizing*. . . OH!
• After finally realizing that this whole time you were trying to give Junkrat gifts it's like he fell in love with you all over again.
• A part of him does feel a tint bit embarrassed for not understanding your initial intention for giving him gifts but that doesn't stop him from absolutely pampering you with kisses and cuddles to make up for it!
• Of course it still takes him a bit to get used to the feeling of being pampered in return but he doesn't just blow of your gifts anytime so that's a start!
• Each gift he gets now he tries to make sure he really shows his appreciation!! For him he's more of a talker as he excitingly goes off to talk about how loved you make him feel. Sometimes this means roping in Roadhog who is about as done aa he can possibly get when hes interrupted again by an enthusiastic Jamie shoving your gifts into Roadies face as he talks his ears off to him. But who else is Junkrat supposed to shout out how much he loves you too? He'd tell it to the Queen if he found a way to do so!
• In all honest you make him feel like royalty himself as your gifts now prominently take up a part of his room and workshop. Even gifts that he's supposed to use he feels bad using them because he hates to see them go and his pile get small again (though its never really small for long).
• Admittedly he isn't the best at giving back gifts in return and you appreciate it when he does go out of his way to give you something in return because you know how he is. But where he lacks in gift giving he makes up for in words, physical affection and quality time as he loves having you by his side whether he's working or relaxing just so he can hold, kiss and love on you as much as you are willing to let him.
