there was absolutely no reason to sigh into the radio. he did it just to be dramatic. i really admire that.
Grace + 👏 Project Hail Mary (2026)
Stratt: "...you don't have a family, you don't even have a dog."

So I have a new roommate now.
i was hanging out with my brother internet sensation hank green tonight, and he was like, "If you spent more time on bluesky you'd be so popular," and i found out he has like 800,000 followers there.
and then i was like, "But I'm on tumblr, which is like the Marines for the Internet. Do you know how fucking dangerous it is there? I am putting my goddamned life in my goddamned hands every time I log in. Bluesky could never."
My wish for you is that you get to love something the way I get to love AFC Wimbledon.
Condolences on being ROBBED in the end of year Good.Store awards - you will always be tumblr's #1 unpaid intern
THIS IS A TRAVESTY. I WAS SELLING EXCELLENT COFFEE AND TEA TO PEOPLE THROUGH MEMES AND OTHER TOMFOOLERY WHEN THIS DUMBASS WAS IN HIS CRADLE.
How on earth did you take 72 flights in a single year? That’s like. So many days and hours of flying. Where do you go??
Well, I was on a book tour, during which I took over 30 flights in 30 days, so that put me somewhat ahead of schedule, but I also did a ton of TB advocacy this year, from Seattle to D.C. to Copenhagen to London to Atlanta to Manila.
I also took six flights just in the last week.
Part of the problem is that Indianapolis doesn't fly direct to enough places, but part of the problem is that I thought I could do an infinite amount of travel to fight for equitable access to diagnostics and treatment.
But looking back, 1. this kind of travel is totally unsustainable, and 2. I'm not sure it's even that effective. Does it matter to be in a room of fancy people who are making healthcare equity promises they'll never keep? I'm not sure it does. I might be better off making TB memes on tumblr and writing novels that can fund TB work.
I'm always torn, because I want to do as much worthwhile stuff as I can while I'm here, but I'm never sure what constitutes worthwhile stuff and how to balance that work with the immense joy and meaning I feel when I'm with my family.
These are, as the saying goes, champagne problems, and I am grateful for them, but they are nonetheless problems.
This is a photograph of deer and deer can get tuberculosis.
sometimes i think about the time a kid in one of my movies recommended the 21 savage song "a lot" to me by saying, "21 savage says he has a lot of lawyers and I bet you also have a lot of lawyers."
the internet is a place for reading wikipedia articles and watching every movie for free. social media is an invasive species. never forget this
[whole body so tense you'd think it was a verb form indicating what time an action occurred] yeah i'm fine why
Jean Michel and Guillaume Henri Vert celebrating Pizzamas circa 1840.
All these companies in the "AI Bubble" just need to donate their profit to charity and they'll have no trouble attracting unpaid interns.
Update: I've been informed that all these trillion dollar companies do not, in fact, have any profit.
Readers of Everything Is Tuberculosis: Henry Reider and I have reunited at a tuberculosis conference. Very grateful to see my friend. Also, we got to have lunch with Dr. Girum Tefera, who saved Henry's life. Thanks for caring about Henry and the book that he inspired. He's doing great. One semester left in college.
So I just got back from swooning over Toby Stephens from 2nd row center in the new production of Wendy & Peter Pan and let me just say that his Captain Hook was delightfully silly, surprisingly touching (and yes I almost cried during his poignant monologue about wishing for Peter Pan’s youthful ignorance/having his whole life before him whilst Hook is painfully feeling the impact of aging), and somehow still smoking hot even in a ridiculous wig and makeup. The whole show is such great fun and the entire cast was lovely. I texted my friend and fellow Black Sails fan that “it is criminal for a man to look so hot at 56.” So, my life is pretty much complete now lol
