Seinfeld took place in the same universe as Mad About You because in the Season 1 episode The Apartment, Paul is subletting his old apartment to Kramer.

Both of those shows were also taking place in the same universe as Friends because in the Season 3 Mad About You episode Pandora’s Box, Jamie tries to steal cable TV and accidentally causes a blackout in all of New York City, which affects the Season 1 Friends episode The One With The Blackout, and also Phoebe’s twin sister Ursula worked at Riff’s in Mad About You.

But, somehow, in the Season 7 Seinfeld episode The Engagement, George and Susan watch an episode of Mad About You in their bedroom even though Kramer is living in Paul from Mad About You’s old apartment.
