Davey instantly felt guilty and his damage control, worried rambling set in immediately,"Oh gosh I'm so sorry baby I didn't mean to wake you hi I love you, I'm so sorry, that thought didn't even cross my mind, I thought you would be busy or something or oh gosh I hope you slept well and that I didn't annoy you too much. You can just ignore all the messages I sent you oh I'm sosososososo sorry, Gavino."
Annoying Gavin would only push him further away, and that was the last thing Davey wanted to do. Even if Gavin had reassured him, several times, that he never annoyed him. Davey could still never be too sure. "I still miss you, though. And it's boring. Mommy's too tired to do anything and I don't even like doing things without you anymore. Nothing's the same. Or maybe I'm just growing up. I don't know, I still like Disney a lot. You would probably know though, you know everything. And you're really really really grown up. You've done it several times. Or maybe it doesn't work like that."
Taking a brief moment to breathe between all his words, Davey also decided to switch topics, before Gavin could even get a word in. Though, it seemed that the vampire had learned to allow for at least a minute between Davey's rambles before replying, as he often wasn't done after his first pause. Gavin was so polite. Davey loved him. Only Gavin didn't know that yet. Or maybe he did. Davey didn't know.
"I'm still really sorry for waking you though. I should make it up to you," the boy trailed up, moving to get up to go see if his mother was finally asleep or not. He'd only been away from her for about fifteen minutes, but Davey knew her sleeping habits better than his own. She was always exhausted and never took more than a couple of minutes to fall into a deep sleep after her head hit the pillow.
Like a frightened baby deer, Davey scampered off to check his mom's tent, keeping Gavin on the phone. As predicted, Davey was correct. His mother was out like a light and wouldn't be checking on him any time soon, allowing him to put his "hold Gavin's interest" plan into action. Scaring himself a little with his own motions, he rushed back into his own tent, forgetting to zip it back up.
"But like I said! I really miss you. A lot. A lot a lot a lot. Like, a lot," the teenager repeated, fidgeting with the waistband of his (read: Gavin's) shorts. "I really miss you, Gavin," he whined, in a manner that was reminiscent of when Davey wanted kisses, rather than hours before, when he was going on and on about bears.
