Take this with you
to all my white followers who stew in unnecessary guilt trying to come to terms with the privilege you have, watch this
If you are a white passing person of colour it is your duty to use that privilege to protect other people of colour!
I rarely post on here anymore. I should. I try to log in once in a while, but time gets busy.
So quick life update: husband is divorcing me, going to be sleeping in my car, got a new job at USPS starting Monday, went from a person who never cries to one who cries constantly (and I hate it), everything sucks.
Happy May Day, y’all.
I love when a meme gets so many steps away from its source material that it would be completely incomprehensible if I didn't know what today's date was
Why did you reblog?
Alan we are so fucked

I'm tired of everything i do is wrong, everything is seen in the worst possible light. I can't be crying because I'm sad, it has to be manipulation. If I don't like something I'm insulting you. If I listen to you and try to do what you say to do I'm nit-picking and focusing on the details. If I say it feels like you don't even like me, it's all in my head. If I ask if we can do the thing you said we could do I'm being controlling, if I say nothing then why didn't I remind you. If I ask you not to share my private details with your friends then I'm not letting you have friends. everything i do is wrong, everything you see in the worst possible light.
I give up.
This post goes around Tumblr every year, and it’s always true. There’s never been an uneventful or boring January.
You might hear from some skeptics that this will do no good because ICE can merely tap the $75 billion that Republicans gave it in their Big Ugly bill. True, but misleading. The current Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill includes an extra $10 billion for ICE. No reason in hell why ICE should have that. (In the long run, that $75 billion should also be clawed back.) You’ll also hear from skeptics that if Democratic senators don’t vote for the appropriations bill, they’ll be tying up funding for seven other departments, too. (The same appropriations bill funds Defense, Treasury, Heath and Human Services, Labor, Housing and Urban Development, Transportation, and Education). The result will be another government shutdown. True, but the whole point here is leverage. Democrats never voted for the Big Ugly in the first place. This is their one opportunity to constrain ICE right now. Keep calling.
it's still weird watching a "president" of the United States sitting in front of the camera mumbling and lying and rambling and making weird shit up...
And everyone just sits and listens - most of the media quietly broadcasting it without significant pushback on the lies, and the flat-out crazy self-aggrandizing bullshit.
Almost unbelievable, and yet here we are.
Sesame Street posting techniques for comforting children during traumatic world events feels so fucking dystopian but here are the slides they posted just in case you or a loved one has any little critters at home right now
No one is doing well right now, but being a little critter right now has got to be terrifying. This is such a crushing series of images, especially considering PBS’s funding got slashed. While I’m happy Sesame Street continues to keep the wellbeing and education of children as a major priority, there’s a certain amount of innocence that Sesame Street represents and this is giving me such a visceral feeling rn
Honestly, this isn't terrible advice for adults, too. We're all just little scared children in grown-up bodies.
Frustrated Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers fled a Minnesota neighborhood after residents alerted each other by triggering car a
Basically, people are using their key fobs to set off their car alarms when they see ICE.
This is effective for several reasons:
Obviously, it alerts everyone that something is wrong. Given ICE has been terrorizing Minnesota, people are likely to immediately know it is ICE. This gives people time to flee or barricade themselves in their homes.
ICE loses the element of surprise.
If one person hears a car alarm go off, they can trigger their own alarm, alerting even more people, but also making it really annoying for ICE. Annoying sounds petty, but it can be effective. Have you ever been in a building when a super loud fire alarm went off? It's very hard to concentrate. You can't hear much else. You just want to leave. ICE experiences this when a whole street if car alarms go off. Which means they make mistakes.
This was how we were alerted to ICE attempting to gain access to our apartment building. This 100% works.
