I made a trolls au and fic :)

It takes place on the way back to pop village after world tour, The trolls are having a merry little time before Branch stops and notices a creature unconscious.

It's not a bergen or troll of any kind they can tell.

What it actually is, Is a mount rageon.

Velvet specifically.

The short and quick of it is a found family centered au on the basis of what if Velvet went looking for trolls but couldn't find them bc of the world tour, Only to be taken in from exhaustion by the pop trolls and bergens?

I've called it the gardener au because despite everything, Velvet takes up gardening as a hobbie, This isn't meant to be a super serious project, Just something I'm choosing to do out of fun.

Making genre spin offs of gardener au is actually pretty tricky because pop works so well since in my lore, Bergen town is nearby one of the pop troll settlements, So Velvet has plenty of living solutions.

So I usually roll with whatever.

Velvet in my au doesn't know shit about plants, She's really just winging it.

She really doesn't like to study anything really.

I just like to think they'd interact like this bc what's the point if Veneer isn't making jabs at her

This was that drawing with heavy rendering that I mentioned awhile ago.

Because of the rageon lore in my au, I like to think that Velvet ending up in Bergen town is the work of the cat distribution system.

Tadaa!! An ancient rageon, A still living ancestor of mount Rageons, Potato smiley looking ass.

They use their tail to latch into ore deposits, Waiting for a troll to tip them off in the dark before pouncing and eating them, They don't do it out of malicious intent, They need to eat.

These are completely feral and still roam the outskirts of symphonyville.

They mostly stick to natural colors with spikes that can easily be mistaken for the Stony formations of a cave.

I wanted them to be cats but be slightly uncanny.

Velvet in the au does learn some humility but I wanted to still preserve her personality traits, Stuff like having outbursts or being prickly, It doesn't stem from entitlement more so the fact that she doesn't know how to articulate her words and just thinks she sounds incredibly insincere so she doesn't try to be, With words at least.

Gestures of affection and appreciation are done in the form of gifts or doing something nice without wanting anything in return, These are never admitted to the person Velvet is doing them for face to face but she leaves a note

Another way that she shows those things is choosing to be in the presence of people when she could literally be anywhere else.

For Velvets rock look, did you pick Venus flytrap because: they thrive with forest fires as they need space from larger plants blocking their sun.

Or Because: Venus is also a god of beauty and Velvet might like the sound of that.

Or Because: Venus Flytraps are really cool!

Those are really good points!! My thought process was the third because I wanted her to look edgy bu not do obvious things with it and from her perspective a plant that eats things would be so edgy.

What happened to the side of her face in the rock drawing?

Basically, To explain it out of story context first, The concept art for V&V have ragedome designs where they have a marking over the same eye, I thought it would be fun to reference that in some way.

As for the story context, Volcano rock city is not idea for rageons in my lore, They're adaptable but not to extremes, In cold they freeze up, In heat, They uh, Melt.

I don't know the specifics but think about it like a burn scar essentially.

Finally, Y'all get Rock!Velvet!!! I like to think in the context of the drawing, Barb is trying to help Velvet figure out how to play guitar.
