Kanda’s dark eyes have a quick look at her but then he is sure it’s the same girl he saw a few days ago. Fingers disappear in in the pockets of his jeans before he pulls out the small folded piece of paper. “You have been in that store on Friday, with the stuff animals. You lost this there. I tried to call you but you rushed away, I didn’t find you again in the crowd.”

Where does inoue think she will go after her death? Hollow? Soul?

out of character. orihime has a fear in the very back of her mind that something will happen in the future, leading her to become a hollow. but it’s something that comes and goes, something that she doesn’t quite wholeheartedly believe.

she likes to think she’ll go to soul society when she passes on. it gives her solace in knowing she could be somewhere, still able to see the friends she keeps near and dear to her heart. she even considers becoming a shinigami, or at least attempting to do so, when that time comes along.

He is likewise suspended in a state of disbelief as his eyes lock with the redheaded girl across from him, the dam he had so carefully worked into his mind now burst open as the memories and regrets flooded over him. Already is he painfully aware of how she receives him; no doubt similar events are replaying in her mind as well. That shock and fear is almost tangible.

For a moment, he almost doesn’t realize that she is speaking to him, asking him, “how?” And he would not be able to answer her. His only response is to pose her a question of his own.

“What are you doing here?”

when she attempts to speak once more, her mouth opens and closes, lips quivering when words fail her. orihime wants to look away, to gather herself, but she knows that she can’t, not when something that she deems so entirely impossible is right before her eyes.

❛ ... i was ... ❜ she swallows the lump in her throat, thoughts racing faster than she can keep up. ❛ i was here to visit nelliel ... ❜ it takes all the willpower she has not to let the tears fall down her cheeks, the shakiness in her voice and her fingers clutching the material of her long skirt clear signs of her growing shock.
