The "Day of the Dead" or "Día de los Muertos" is a Mexican festival where people gather to remember and pray for the dead. The Day of the Dead Skulls or Calavera are used to decorate alters and "calaveras de azúcar" or sugar skulls are similar and can be eaten. My friend’s awesome Day of the Dead altar (Dia De Los Muertos). She’s so creative. Every year she makes the best altar to display in Old Town San Diego. She encourages people to leave pictures of their loved ones who have passed, she frames them and adds them to the altar. She was so proud of this one and made all the other altars in the area look like shit lol. She doesn’t have a lot of space to work with so she does the best she can with the limited space, but it always looks so amazing.
