life with a chronic illness:
I’ve heard people say, “If you really had a migraine, then you’d be in bed nearly dying”. It’s true for some people. It’s also untrue for others. It generally depends on the migraine intensity and symptoms.
You don’t necessarily get used to migraines, so much as you learn to cope at various pain levels with an increase in experience. Chronic migraines are something you have to pace yourself with, and you learn about that over time as you test yourself.
So if you get migraines, know this: No matter what your activity level is while enduring a migraine, you’re an amazing, tough person. Don’t doubt that for a second. You know what you can and can’t do while hurting. Don’t let anyone invalidate that for you.
Remembering this is key. I often forget this. Reminders are good things.
I made this for my fellow migraine peeps, its an illness thats never taken seriously but i promise it is serious.
