Adding some from Scotland I have experience with and afaik take donations, some are broader but with good trans inclusion:

Scottish Trans - Trans advocacy, information and social events. Run by the Equality Network, a broader Scottish LGBTQI advocacy group.

LEAP Sports Scotland - Sports charity that advocates for queer inclusion in sports, runs trans sports groups (Trans Active) in at least Glasgow and Edinburgh that I can absolutely recommend.

LGBT Health & Wellbeing - Not trans specific but includes trans specific, trans led and trans inclusive support and social events, and supports a variety of smaller community-run subgroups.

And another couple UK-wide:

Gender Identity Research & Education Society - Trans led charity supporting research on trans matters and education/training on trans inclusion. Does consultancy for public and private sector organisations.

Trans Kids Deserve Better - Trans advocacy and activist group led by and for trans kids. They do good work.

it really pisses me off when I tell someone about my experience with lupus psychosis (caused by cerebritis, a form of brain inflammation) and they're like "wow someone should have brought you to the psych ward."

that actually would probably have killed me.

lupus psychosis is caused by an autoimmune disease (literally brain inflammation), it's not psychiatric. antipsychotics do absolutely nothing to help lupus psychosis. the only thing that can improve lupus psychosis is treatment for the lupus itself.

when people with lupus psychosis are admitted to a psych ward with a misdiagnosed psychotic disorder they often die. when people with lupus psychosis are in the psych ward they are often put on increasingly high doses of antipsychotics and other psychiatric drugs and aren't discharged. they are often denied other medical care because it's "unnecessary" and often because "it's just their psychosis"

I hope I don't need to explain why ignoring brain inflammation is dangerous.

context: mira bellweather is the author of fucking trans women, and an activist for transfeminism and sex education for and about trans women. she passed away tragically in 2022 from lung cancer. and as dour as it is to say, many of us are not afforded the luxury of growing to see 40 OR dying of something other than violence (including homelessness and such as violence, of course)

march 31st is her birthday, and has been declared by her friends, family, and supporters as "buy a trans woman a pizza" day. she was a disabled trans woman who did so much for this community and it would mean a lot if allies of all stripes and walks of life would participate and buy us a pizza.

you wanna reblog "love every trans woman before it's too late"? this is your genuine opportunity. many of us don't get to die of old age or illness. we're killed by much crueler circumstances, so take this opportunity to find a trans woman to give some money to so she can buy herself a pizza, and let her know you love her. especially lately, with so many of us getting run off this website, some tangible support would be much appreciated.

My flare from last year has not gone away, they’re running out of treatments for me, my food stamps got cut, my rent went up, I fell on the ice the other day and my silly knees won’t hurt cause of EDS and I don’t even think I’ll have the money for the copay to the consult for top surgery later this month.

Nevertheless, I will persist. I want to live to be an elderly queer trans person, and I have a cat I need to care for
