                                             PHYSICAL ASPECTS

BODY TYPE:  She is fairly slim and isn’t overly muscular or athletic, though she isn’t overweight or underweight. She does appear a little frail sometimes, but she is stronger than she looks.  HAIR: She has dark brown hair that comes down to her shoulder blades, usually wears it down or up in a messy bun. It’s a little wavy naturally, though she does straighten it from time to time.  EYES: Her eye colour is brown. It often looks like she hasn’t slept very well, which from time to time is true, but she looks more tired than she actually is thanks to her eyes. SKIN: She’s got a medium beige skin tone. She has a few acne scars around her nose and cheeks, though the more noticeable scars are the surgical ones around her chest and sides.    HEIGHT: 5′5′’ WEIGHT: Fluctuates.  SIZES: Rude.

PHYSICAL

ENDURANCE - Not all that great. She can certainly without a fair amount of pain, but anything past a fairly deep cut is not going to fly by without some sort of reaction. Any sort of extended physical pain isn’t something she knows how to deal with. 

HAND TO HAND COMBAT - Poor. Very poor. She knows how to curl a fist properly to throw a punch, but as for actually throwing one she’s got no idea what she’s doing. If you ever have to fight her, she’s going to play dirty. 

GUNS AND WEAPONS TRAINING - Non-existent. She’s never touched a gun in her life. 

ATHLETIC - She’s got a surprising amount of upper body strength and enjoys climbing, though it’s not a strong as she likes to think. Her stamina is alright, she can run for a good distance before getting winded. It used to be better before the car crash. 

NON-PHYSICAL

FAST THINKING / INTUITION / ADAPTABILITY - Katherine can think pretty well on her feet if she needs to and tends to trust her gut intuition about stuff. However, she has a hard time adapting to new situations and may resist change if it’s too much for her.

[Suicide warning]

Being passed around a couple foster homes until she met Felix and Marie-Anne at the age of five, whom she was primarily raised by. 

Felix and Marie-Anne splitting up at the age of thirteen and her mother starting to date again almost immediately after, which helped shape her view on love and marriage.

She met Willow and Amelia, the first being a close friend and the other being Kath’s first girlfriend.

Willow starts to drive Kath away from Amelia. 

Amelia leaves Kath due to moving out of state, Kath starts to blame Willow for the already shaky state of their relationship. 

Kath drops out of high school due to slipping grades and mental health.

She’s diagnosed with Depression at the age of sixteen. 

First therapy sessions.

Kath stays with her dad for a few months due to a rocky phase in her relationship with her mother, learns how to live on her own while her father stays away for weeks due to work. 

Willow grapples to keep control of Katherine in her life, their relationship suffers for it. First suicide plans are made. 

Kath goes on a car ride with Willow, they get into a wreck by turning into oncoming traffic. Willow is killed on impact, Kath is rushed to the hospital for her injuries. 

She sees Alice for the first time a day after coming to in the hospital room.

Deals with her first ghost. Then her second. Then her third.

WAS HE REALLY THAT THREATENING-LOOKING, or was the vibe all wrong? Something was off–regardless of his involvement or not. Each little thing came with a creek or click that followed him and gave a beat to his walk. Something didn’t like him here, and he sadly wasn’t going to leave. His fingers dragging over old status and desolate wooden furniture before he focused on the girl nearby. Fingers tapping with a repetitive clicking in the distance (a warning he wasn’t aware of).

     “ Do you have some old records here–old sports memorabilia maybe? “

Whatever sort of shit Alice was wanting to pull, Katherine wasn’t going to have it. She was off shift in an hour or so, anyway, it wasn’t like she was going to spending the rest of her time with this guy once he got what he was looking for. She straightened up slightly, tilting her head somewhat in thought. 

“I’m not too sure about records, you would have a better chance in one of the shops a couple blocks down,” she said somewhat sheepishly, scratching at the back of her head, “However, we do have some sports memorabilia. What are you into? Football? Soccer? Baseball?”

     Goosebumps littered Mel’s arms, and she resisted the urge to try to rub      them away. Instead–ignoring the growing signs of Madison’s presence–      she decides to stay focused on the girl before her.      She was never any good at holding a conversation, and in fact, she’d      spent nearly her entire time in New Orleans ignoring people at any      chance she could. It seemed now that she really couldn’t, and honestly,      at this point, she’d do whatever she could to ignore Madison.      Oh. Wait. The stranger just asked her a question. Right.      ❝Oh, er– not…always. Cameras are pretty expensive though– at least      the good ones are, and well… This one–❞ she gestures vaguely with      the camera in her hand, ❝–is one that I’m… I guess you could say that      I’m prettyyy…attached to it.❞ More than this girl could possibly know.      The feeling of Madison’s presence was getting worse, and her body      language must’ve been giving off a ‘leave me the fuck alone’ vibe,      because of what the girl said next.

     Melanie only blinked at her at first before lightly shaking her head.      ❝No it’s not–❞ “Hey, miss me?” ❝–shit–❞ Mel freezes; tensing up      as her eyes dart between Madison and the stranger, chewing on the      inside of her cheek.      ❝You’re not bothering me.❞ Okay Mel, try to not act all weird. Play      it cool. Play it cool. No sweat.

Now, this was always the hard part.

Katherine could almost feel Alice pressing up against her back, that familiar chill ripping up her back as she could almost visualize her looming over her shoulder. The woman shook her head slightly of the whispering, words trying to form like a dial trying to tune into a out of reach radio frequency. Obviously she wanted to tell her something, tell this woman something, maybe this woman had someone else there with her, too.

She could almost sense it, too. It was always down to if she was in the place to tell them or not. It wasn't like she could just blurt out that a ghost was hanging around them, most people tended to look at her like she was delusional. Most people. Some actually believed her, surprisingly. Though, she certainly was in the right city for it.  

“Uh, you...you think it would be more expensive to buy film for cameras like that nowadays,” she said, clearing her throat as she felt the pressure at the base of her neck and shoulders seemed to step off, but she could certainly still feel Alice lingering, “Though, I guess there's no price for attachment.”

God, it felt like she was just chatting with no direction. Katherine was too distracted, and this woman seemed to be pretty distracted, too. That or she was just as awkward. It could have easily been both.

“Oh, okay. Good, I'm glad,” she said with a nod, before extending her hand somewhat, “I'm Katherine, by the way.”

as a best friend 

Katherine doesn’t have very many friends, Alice probably being the closest being that spends their time around her every day, with the exception of Lee, her cat. However, if you happen to get to the point where she considers you her best friend, expect to be spending quite a bit of time with her. Mostly, she treats all her friends with the same level of friendliness and care, though her best friends tend to see more of the “bad” side of her. They’ll see the breakdowns and she may share some of the more difficult thoughts she has with them. She doesn’t expect advice or for someone to make her better, she just usually wants someone who will listen. However, on the good notes, she’s a lot more goofy and open with her best friends than acquaintances and other friends, and may talk about Alice and her ability with them more openly than anybody else. She can also be a little protective and somewhat doting. 

All in all, her best friends get to see a little deeper than other people. Even her family doesn’t know much about her inner thoughts and workings, aside from her father.
