✦. ❛ Like usual, Madison could be found in the farthest corner of the library. She tried her best to avoid any social interactions while sorting the returned books into several shelves. How long has she been working here now? A few months? Probably. And honestly, she didn’t even expect it to last this long. But her boss and the other employees seemed rather understanding and encouraged her to keep working. She didn’t like to talk about her… ah, condition. However, she had no other choice but to let her workplace know. At least now she’s allowed to stay home whenever she doesn’t feel well. They even allowed her to bring her dog Koda to the library, thankfully he was a quiet and well behaved boy. Thanks to all of this, she felt really comfortable. She was scared at first but eventually, after a few weeks of work, the fear had disappeared.
It was a quiet place. Most people were busy studying or reading. No one paid much attention to her nor did anyone try to start a conversation with her. Still, just to be sure– she decided to hide in the farthest part of the building. Madison was almost done when she suddenly heard footsteps near her. She paused. Taking a deep breath, she turned her head to the direction of the sound. It was truly amazing but someone had actually found her! Dammit. She needed a better hiding spot. Her gaze shifted to the books the person was holding. Alright, all she had to do was help and the stranger would leave her alone, right? Okay. She could do this. No problem. Her eyes moved up carefully and met with pink orbs. Woah. What a crazy eye color– no, actually– everything about this girl seemed crazy. Her style in fashion.. the hair… make-up.. wait. Staring like this was surely rude, so she averted her gaze again and looked at the books in her own hands.
She was going to to help her but was completely caught off guard by the sudden yelling. For a moment, the silence of the library was interrupted by the girl’s loud voice. Madison flinched a little, now dropping the books to the ground. It couldn’t be, could it? Someone actually recognized her? Oh no. Someone from the past? From.. her old school? Who was this girl? Paranoia slowly creeped it’s way into her mind but she tried to shake it off. “I’m.. sorry? Have we met before? Who are you?” She asked, picking up the books before putting them into the shelf in front of her. “Also, could you please keep your voice down?”
🔥 ;; —— Who would have thought that after all of these years they would meet again ? No actually...who would have thought that Aika would even still remember or just recognize her friend ? It almost seemed bizarre to her. Now she started to doubt her assumption. What if this wasn’t Madison ? Her friend from years prior ? And the girl she actually was talking with on internet ? What if she...mistaken this random girl for Madison ? Could it be that she wanted their meeting to happen THAT bad ? No...this simply didn’t sounded right. This had to be her.
She didn’t seemed to change that much either. The same hazel eyes, maybe not beaming with happiness now, but they surely still had the same spark — or maybe it’s just the lights of the library ? Then her black hair — then again this is America, tons of people have black hair. Pale skin ? Maybe it’s the lack of sun, which is usually covered with the clouds of this nasty smoke. Her head started to hurt. Thinking surely wasn’t for her. She was better at taking actions than just thinking. Though, her thinking was stopped, once a single thought crossed her head. The girl responded to the name, right ? Then this could mean that... no this had to be her ! No one else ! Why would she respond in such way if this wouldn’t be her ? Ha ha ! Exactly ! Oh she is sure gonna treat herself for this later — I mean, ahem.
Her eyes looked around, now realizing that she disturbed the people inside of the library. Damn, she surely wasn’t the best at keeping quiet. ❛❛ Sorry ! ❜❜ she whispered-yelled, while waving at the others. She was sure off to the great start. Then she looked back at the girl, which was currently picking the books up. As if that wasn’t enough, she also startled her ! No wonder, weirdo like her would scare anyone really. A sigh left her lips. as she rubbed on the back of her neck a little. Then a pout came onto her lips, as she pointed at herself, with her slender fingers, with nails painted black. ❛❛ Common Maddy, it’s me...eh... ❜❜ she paused. No way in hell she would mention her real name. Not in public at least. It’s just didn’t sound right. Then again, if she wanted better results then she might as well... unless her alias would be enough. ❛❛ Aika. Remember now ? The one with the lighter and uh...you know just...AIKA ? Or eh...well... ❜❜ yeah as if her real name is going to come through her throat. So, instead of torturing herself, she stopped there. Maybe she does look like an idiot, but she always has the option of escaping and never coming back here again.
