Storytelling tips from the MOTH

Be forewarned: Stories are told, not read. Have some stakes. A story without stakes is an essay and is best experienced on the page, not the stage. Start in the action. A great first line sets up the stakes and grabs attention. Steer clear of meandering endings. They kill a story! Know your story well enough to have fun. Imagine you are at a dinner party, not a deposition. No standup routines/No rants/No essays. Bring us your STORY, save the angry rant and one-liners for your therapist.
