“So you’re always this fucking angry? It’s getting pretty old, take a shot or have a fucking joint, hell --- get laid, dude. I’m sick and tired of having to bail you out of jail. These anger issues need to be confined, and if my sister finds out that I’m bailing you out of getting arrested then I’m gonna be the one on the death toll in this fucking town.” ( @tate-emersxn )

HAILEE;
“Okay – I will give you the warning – ok.” Hailee should’ve seen this coming, should’ve known that she would reach this point with Derek. His gentle nature made it difficult for Hailee not to want to seek comfort. His words went past her and her thoughts were no longer at the moment they were sharing. Instead the events she had been running away from had made their way from the back of her mind to the front. Derek had solved all the problems she was focusing and zeroing in – she now had a place to stay at, a place where all her belongings would go and she didn’t need to pay anyone rent money right now. Every roadblock Hailee had placed up was knocked down and she didn’t any more life jackets to cling onto. “My parents are dead,” she muttered before pressing down on her lower lip, gently tugging it, hoping and praying at the same time that if she did then he wouldn’t notice the tremble. She had never imagined a life without her parents, and she had never realized how lost she was going to be without them. Her feet here glued to the ground below her, her heartbeat became the loudest thing in the room drowning Derek’s voice, leaving her completely lost and free falling. “My sister is gone,” now she was just stating facts, facts that she had known was true all this time but she had refused to acknowledge them. Had refused to face them and luckily for her, her friends hadn’t pushed her to deal with them. Danny hadn’t told her what an idiot she was for operating on an all-time high with her problems that was not the real problem. This meant she could be a ballerina full time, her parent’s expectations dissolved with their bodies – did it not? Had this not been the freedom that she had once wanted? Her double life was over, was it not? Her mind was a chaos, her fingers tangled and gently pulled her hair. Her eyelids pulling their own weight and her determination not to look at Derek was one of many battles she was fighting right there. “I didn’t cry when we found them. I didn’t cry at the funeral. Am I really that fucked up? – I keep thinking they will come back. That this is just another crude training exercise.”
His smile immediately faded as he heard the words fall from the younger hunters lips, his heart almost dropping at the way she looked down and focused on anything other than his face. Losing parents was never easy, although Derek never knew what it felt like until his adoptive father took him in and died fighting for the human population, as he intended. Derek never met his mother, other than the few brief moments when his small body laid upon her chest before he had been teared away from the woman and had to learn growing up that she died after giving birth; something that Derek never forgave himself for, but pushed the guilt so far down that he forced it to not be resurfaced. The thought of looking someone like Brooks or Becks, two people that were basically his blood family at this point, tore him into shreds. Watching Hailee stand there and state the facts of her parents dying and his sister vanishing when Hailee clearly needed her the most, was nothing less than fulfilled with envy of how strong she was pushing herself to be. Derek never knew the full extent of her family life, same goes for Hailee with his own, but with the look he was seeing on her face, he was more than aware that she was almost upset with herself for not being able to accept the fate that had taken two people she obviously loved dearly. “You’re not fucked up,” he finally said in a faint whisper as he took the two steps to enclose their distance and gather the woman in his arms, wrapping them tightly around her body before one arm raised up for his fingers to come in contact with her hair. “You’re far from fucked up, Hailee. The shocked stage varies for many, and it’s okay that you’re not crying. Doesn’t make you any less of a person that lost someone.”
REMI;
“You could put that on a sign; march through the streets protesting. – if it wasn’t that memorable you would have forgotten already, so stop with the lies it only makes you look silly. Why haven’t you tried taking me down?”
“You’re not memorable in the way you want to be, Remi. Stopped being memorable in a setting of lust when you told me the fucking truth. My sister taught me better than to go after something that can’t be killed, doesn’t mean you can’t cut like the rest of them, so get on your fucking way.”
REMI;
“You humans eat innocent cows because they provide meat – humans are my cows – awe, you used to enjoy looking at me in that hotel, or did you forget?”
“Humans are not your fucking ----- cows,” he muttered with a wrinkle of his nose. “I like to forget, and if I can manage to forget, clearly it wasn’t that fucking memorable.”
HAILEE;
“Not being stubborn just careful. If you have me around all the time you’re going to get tired of me and then who would I hang out with?” Moving out was a painful memory for her, but ultimately getting her own place would be good. It would help her move on, which was the next process in the grieving step. The office – her office – It wasn’t home, but it was a base and that was good enough for her. Not to mention that it was cheap and it would save her a lot of time getting to work, as long as her boss never found out that was. “That is not possible. Trust me, Kai moved out not because of our parents but because how much of a neat freak I am and the fact that I am an early bird” Matching his smile, she thought about what her parents would have made of the decision to move into her office, which quickly leads to a frown as she bit down on her lower lip. “I’m sure you have a lot of dates, you know the hunting and your sister.” She commented further before granting him a small smile and leaning back on the door frame, contemplating whether she should move in with the guy that she had been crushing for a year almost. Debating the pros and cons, because she worried about everything that had taken place this could push her further into the friend zone forever. “ – If I say yes then you have to let me pay you back as soon as I have the money but till then I’ll cook and clean to earn my living. And you have to wear a shirt, you can’t be shirtless. – Are you sure? I don’t want to overstep, Derek”
“I could never get tired of you,” he said quietly, eyes scanning down at her once again with a small smile forming on his lips. He could almost hear the fake gags that Beck would be throwing out into the open if she heard his words, the way he managed to get massively mushy around the woman standing in front of him and the way his eyes would soften at the sight of her. It was his weakness, his only damn weakness, standing in front of him and he knew that she was going to either make him better or make him dead before the age of forty, but at this time he couldn’t bring himself to care. “Okay ---- I’m gonna have to make rules about the early bird. Unless you plan on waking me up every morning with some scrambled eggs and coffee, you better keep yourself down and the lights off. I don’t wake up until doubt digits are on my clock,” he teased with a small smirk moving onto his lips as a chuckle moved past his lips, hands digging themselves into his pockets. “No dates, unless you count prom. Even then, my date left with someone else so I don’t really like to think of it as a date,” he muttered with a chuckle. High school was a part of Derek’s memory that was pushed so far back in his mind that bringing it up almost made him physically cringe at the thoughts of it. Leaning back against the door frame, a smirk slithered it’s way onto his lips as he listened to her rules; his head slowly nodding in agreement. “Fair enough. Although that means I need a good ten second warning when you’re gonna be walking out of the bathroom with a damn towel around your body. I wouldn’t ask if I wasn’t sure, Hails. You are not going to live in a damn office when there is a free room in my apartment.”
BECKS;
“Don’t be such a pouty baby, Brooks always said it was a bad look on you.” She hitched the safety of her own weapon before stowing it within the waistband of her pants for safe keeping, never traversing around Red Creek without a defense. “Of course I am. I know damn well you don’t have enough on you to afford us both. I clocked out of the nice business a long time ago, prick. Archer’s is the only place I can fuckin’ stand right now so that’s where we’re headed.”
“Brooks is also a fuckin’ pouty baby some days so he can shove it,” he muttered with a small huff following afterwards, pulling his jacket back down comfortably after putting his gun in it’s usual place behind his back. Ever since the encounter with Remi, the male refused to walk anywhere around town without anything on him; constantly worried that one of his friends would turn around with damn fangs coming from their mouth. “Archer’s is the only fucking place you can ever stand, but I’m not gonna disagree if you’re paying. Also fuck you --- I have enough damn money to pay for two people, you’re just not special enough for me to use it on you.”

HAILEE;
“And – about that – we might have to use your kitchen cause you know – there is no kitchen here…” She had been pretty preoccupied lately, honestly. Between burying her parents and helping Kai pack her stuff and leave she barely had been given enough time to locate a new place or make enough money to place down a month’s rent. However, she was thankful for Derek and his help, and the fact that he seemed to be one of the few people that weren’t all over her. He still looked at her as a capable hunter and not some poor child who had just lost the two most important people in her life. That was priceless and she didn’t know if she could ever repay him for his kindness, “You have a man cave, Derek. If I move in I am going to crash any chance you have of bringing chicks around. Not to mention that I doubt your roommate is going to want a female living with you two.” And it didn’t help that she was well aware that Derek walked around shirtless she was already speechless around him, she didn’t want to become completely dumbfounded. “And I don’t have money to pay the rent.”
“Figured as much, but you do know that if you just stopped being so stubborn you could be using that kitchen any time you wanted,” he stated with a chuckle, finally letting his arm fall to his side. Inviting Hailee to stay with him might have been one of the stupidest ideas that Derek had managed to make, especially with his feelings clouding his judgement massively on the topic and still unable to spit out any sense of words towards his feelings towards the other hunter that was standing across from him. Maybe it had to do with the possible rejection, or because of the amount of loss and stress that was holding tightly onto her shoulders, something that Derek felt as though was enough to make her not even think about him in a way other than a close friend. “Man cave? I’m probably a neater freak then you, and it’s cute that you think I bring girls home,” he chuckled, unable to remember the last time he brought a girl home with him after a night out. “Roommate hasn’t been there in forever, things aren’t even there other than a few things of clothing ----- and I wouldn’t make you pay rent until you were back on your feet. That’s the whole point there, Hails.”
HAILEE;
“Listen, I told you that you didn’t have to help me. Not my fault that the pancake offer nudged you off your ass.” Hailee observed as she moved up the step with the box of her small personal items. She had to sell everything else to get some rent money, and she was still short. The female had decided to move into her office. She doubted the Mayor was going to notice, not with everything going on. “Besides we’re almost over and you can be free and what not.”
“You know pancakes are a weakness of mine, especially when you make them,” he muttered with a breathless chuckle. His head still pounded as he moved the box into the office that she was so destined to stay in, despite his constant offers to let her stay with him as his roommate had gone a-wall for weeks, although it wasn’t a distant thought of him possibly being dead with the amount of blood-thirsty vampire moving around town. Leaning back against the wall, he held his hand up to block the door that the other hunter was ready to walk out of once again to get another box, his eyes focused down on her face. “You serious about moving in here? There’s an actual fucking bed and bathroom at my place that you can take over, Hailee.”
REMI;
“Not in so many words – maybe illegal, but I don’t think anyone’s ever said it’s rude” brows rose while arms folded across her chest, her usual smirk dancing upon red stained lips as she faced the man she used to share a bed with. “Ah, very helpful tip my friend, I’ll remember that for next time — care to join me in a nighttime stroll? You can keep an eye on me, make sure I’m not being a bad girl for the rest of the night”
“Well I fucking said it was rude, ever think about being a logical vampire like the rest around here and actually drink blood bags instead of innocent human beings?” He asked before shaking his head, taking a step back as his body itched to reach into his back pocket for the knife he constantly cradled and sink it into her porcelain skin. “Think I’m gonna pass on that one, my eyes would rather look elsewhere.”

where do you feel the most safe and at home?
“safe with my knives in their right places and most at home probably with hailee eating pizza and watching stupid movies.”
Do you have someone you think of constantly?
“damn fuckin’ right i do, and wouldn’t you like to know who the fuck it is.”
