「he was sharp, ruthless and chipped lying on velvet and silk」
They call him vile, vicious in his cruelty, with a wicked grin decorating the corners of vivid lips and blessed features far too alluring even for a child of the night. Oh, but how foolish are those whose tempers are so easily tempted by such childish antics! Seek no further than behind dented halo and broken wings, the child whose naivety was claim by the imposing arms of illness and bind so firmly to a permanent hospital bed, is still misplaced midst ire and apathy for those patient enough to pursue it.
Perhaps, it’s why she always thought he was enchanted by the idea of wanderlust – or maybe, he was a wander in lust, leaving behind only trail of charcoal dust.
She would never condemn his errs or faults, regardless of what the world might wish, for the force of nature which was he would always find a home in between delicate limbs. Ethereal beauty was a born lioness— made of a heart drowning in bravery and love, and patience far too great to instruct her cubs to bare their teeth. Therefore, what surprise it brings to know he was raised a predator in a sheep’s skin?
Manicured nails strummed against the cold surface of woodened table, drawing the outline of every corner with the very tips of her digits. A soft smile danced across crimson tinted couplets in admiration towards her surroundings, the fact it reflected the perfect picture square of his character never failed to amuse her, regardless of how often she had allowed herself in unannounced.
“Welcome home, dearest.” Dulcet voice resounded fondly, tangled in the webs of her velvety voice as the reverberations of the electronic lock unraveling the front door echoed through the apartment. Anemic epidermis glittered underneath faint light as her fragile arms reached out to the newcomer, commanding his approach in such an affectionate manner that almost mirrored an invitation. “There is blood in the fridge and wine in the cabinet.”
Dainty shoulders of ethereal beauty were shrug in an elegant manner, a wordless indication towards the small velvet box nestled in the center of the table, the silver designed Rolex contrasting perfectly with the navy blue delicacy that surrounded it. And the scarlet pointers that reflected the color of the elixir of life was expected to tickle away his undivided attention, sculpted brows arched slightly in amusement when her topaz colored orbs diverted towards her child’s glance.
He is for a fact one of the most beautiful forces of nature. Oh, but dear earthquake, don’t you dare to tremble, quiver and crack at least not while she has you caged.
“How have you been? I have missed you quite dearly.” A giggle chimed behind the shelter of porcelain, as her delicate hand sought her lips to prevent the conspicuous mock of amusement to attempt to scape crimson cage. Playfulness boarding childish insolence glittered in her eyes, as swiftly as a delicate hand shifted, lowering the cover of the velvety box before her dear earthquake ever had a chance to reach for it. “Would you tell me more about your day?” The request in overflowing affection and the gentleness of her free digits ghostling over his were a silent apologize for such teasingly antics.
Now hush, little baby, don’t cry his own tiredness he can deny but allow her to sooth your tremors into a deserving and loving embrace.
「home is only as far as you let your heart stray」
Hollow heart throbbing faintly underneath osseous cages still resounded clearly hours hereafter – ethereal beauty sought shelter in the shadows of her own abode, hypervigilance wintering fragile bones in response to every reverberation of the clicks of her high heels against the solid surface of marble floor. Despair resulted out of unfailing foolishness! For her heart no longer pulsed in the rhythm of night terrors.
Sweet one, have you already forgotten? Life is for the living, not the living dead. Those like you are not allowed a tear to shed.
Prominent canine sunk deep into the flash of crimson tinted lips, the fine china nestled carefully in between the palms of anemic skin had its outline contoured softly by the tips of her fingers. Manifestations of temporal ghosts throughout the night were nothing compared to the flash deep scars of a warrior armored in fur and claws, raged uncontrolled underneath azure moonshine.
Sculpted brows in a repressive frown molded topaz colored orbs, the unnecessary violence in which newcomer hunters conducted the situation could only be dignified with disapproval, the fallen warrior blessed by Morpheus in an almost twelve hours slumber, was not one to blame for the instincts he carried within.
Solicitude and condolence melted topaz into crepuscule pools at the remembrance of the wounds and burns that shattered through his armor, tainting pallid epidermis in scarlet—his own or another’s, ethereal beauty could not fathom, even with the return of her enhanced senses it was impossible to delineate. He had been in so much pain, soft caresses and words of comfort whispered gently to him in the rare moments of lucidity midst treatment did not appeared to be nearly enough to make the ache tolerant.
Her heart almost shed tears of its own at the realization a warrior was still suffering alone. Oxygen drawn in anxiety reflected the tenderness and gentleness her heart possessed.
Bewitching was the eyes that greeted her orbs in the moment the woodened door was left agape! Hesitant and enigmatic in the darkest shade of midnight, ethereal beauty felt the corners of her crimson couplets curling upwards, dancing to the tickle of a small smile, underneath his undivided gaze. “I’m glad you’re already awake, impressed even.” Dulcet voice was sincere, wrapped gentle by velvety intonation as the fine china was nestled against the cold surface of cotton covers and sheets. “Does anywhere specific aches more when compared to the rest of your frame?”
Delicate digits rapidity grasp the extent of his board shoulders – enhanced speed for which ethereal beauty was acknowledge for applied to suitability, in order to refrain his brusque movements, concern brimmed her eyes for a lingering second, the laceration craved to his back had been deep and the focus of her undivided attention for hours after his arrival. She would not allow any harm to befall him, even if for his own reckless antics.
“Please, refrain yourself from compelling unnecessary movements.” She pleaded, fingertips brushed daintily against blemished epidermis, drawing a threshold in the perimeter of the long injury he sustained, silently aiding the fallen warrior in a recognition mission within his own proud build. “Twenty stitches slanted to your spine is not something to be taken lightly.”
She traced the outline of his wounds with the familiarity of mapped constellations and perhaps, she could indeed see the faint similarity, between this warrior and fallen hero centuries prior.
“You were brave, lionhearted even. However, your body still needs healing.” Words echoed the stir between past and present in a reminisce silence, a mere mutter an octave below a whisper as the palm of her hands sought solace for a lingering second in between his shoulder blades. Perhaps, temporal ghosts had made homes out of her weakness, and once in a blue moon, she indeed allowed herself to be haunted. “A few unexperienced hunters exaggerated greatly in their attempt to contain your wolf form during the blue moon, it might take a little longer to be healed properly.”
Not anymore, Not when there was someone’s recovered lingered between her hands. No, No, No!
“This is jasmine tea; it is supposed to aid you in recovering and soothing muscular ache while enticing your immunological system to react against any infections. The honey is just for flavor, the medicines can be quite unpleasant if your throat is dry.” She shrugged her shoulders in an elegant manner, slowly adjusting the fine china to his larger hands as she pressed her freed one towards his waist, gently studying the aftermaths of a silver burn. “Do you mind if I change the bandages now?”

until nature started to protest and you had a sample of what could have been. it’s homing instinct displaced into a certain individual. but what can you do when you are nothing but a pathetic excuse for a werewolf?
to rule others, you must first rule yourself. to guide others, you must first find yourself.
you sit in the ruins of your own making, human skin shivering without the protection of fur. eyes recording the damage done out of fury, longing, jealousy, and desperation. how can you lead when you will be nothing but a burden to your pack? how can you lead when you are asking them to carry your weight? no individual should ever ask someone else to carry their burdens for them. how selfish, how quick to bring the other to ruin.
there’s a soft click as the door unlocks. this is her home after all. you look at her, barely able to see her outline through the wall of tears.
how selfish of you to not consider how much of your weight she has had to put up with all this time. a simple realization but guilt slips under the skin and your lips quiver in apology.
“am I heavy iza-sama?” voice breaks. you try to find it again.
“wouldn’t it be easier if you never had let me in?” save yourself. leave me be. you hope she hears your silent pleas.
And all you could feel is pain. A cornucopia of sweltering ache in trembling waves overpowering your fragile frame once again.
Heart devoid of emotions of your own devastated osseous cages in the aftermath of a shipwreck – tsunamis carried the kind of pain that electrocutes every nerve fiber underneath anemic epidermis. Manicured nails craved crescents into the palm of your skin, draining the elixir of life through layers and layers of porcelain as you deposited left wrist above diaphragm, hand clutching tightly into a small fist in a wordless plead for mercy, but not for yourself, never for yourself.
Inhale, exhale, repeat. Laboring breath resounded an octave bellow an acceptable whisper, it was ironic how centuries after your pulse came to cease, the sound of your heart shattering was still louder than your own voice. Teeth sunk deep into the flash of crimson lips, forcing a shade of amethyst to taint soft couplets every time they parted, gasping for air in hopes to suffocate the thriving ache.
This is the afterlife for you. Consciousness echoed reminders in hopes to prevent the overflowing tears. You deceived death and he was the one in the possession of a heartbeat.
It was a mother’s duty to conserve light within crystalized mirrors of his soul, therefore, he could never be allowed to catch glimpses of moistened porcelain tainting lamentations and sorrow against hollow cheekbones. Topaz colored orbs diverted gazes towards the monometer in the opposite corner of the small corridor, the tickles of the second hand cooing long eyelashes to adjoin in concentration, soothing calmness and affectionate comfort transcending the metallic construction of a panic room in order to reach his distressed soul.
Full moon was no longer a parallel to mystified beauty; it was a tyrant tormentor, a merciless source of agony for a beloved one. Flash of your flash nor blood of your blood were he, but you still loved him as your own kin, for he personified all the what ifs and could have been that haunted the depths of your subconscious every time your undivided attention fell upon his frame.
And sometimes, it was obvious how he carried glimpses of a hero and a phoenix within the ashes of insecurities and self-doubts.
Swift was the sway of your digits against the electronic lock besides the wintery surface of the door, and so was the reverberations of your heels rapidly clicking against the marbled floor as you lowered your petite frame to be sustained above both of your knees. “Do not utter such foolishness, my pup.” Dulcet voice muttered, all too gently to be acknowledge as a scold, as her limbs tangled around his torso— the tenderness of genuine concern evident in topaz colored orbs, disregarding his hollowness for the favor of catering to the small wound in the outlines of his left temple.
“This is where you belong to, degrees of predicaments matters naught at the expenses of your heart.” Velvety intonation drew words of consolation against his cheekbone; free hand was rapidly intertwine with one of his own, in a silent reassurance of her words. “Nothing is more valuable than your life, pup. You should know me better by now; I would never condemn you to a life of loneliness, I love you far too much to allow your thoughts to thread around those lines.”
You bow your head, nose nuzzling against the edge of his jawline in a caress that seemed to sooth serenity through his build, a common gesture of his kin, as you grew to comprehend. “Does anywhere aches? Those lacerations might need a few stitches. However, is there anything else in need of urgent treatment?” You decided to voice out your preoccupations instead, after all, you could still feel the necessity of sheltering him within your limbs.

you’re no longer trying to survive; you are here now to observe. you cannot be alive because it has become extremely hard for you to die.
lately, however, there isn’t much to observe outside of the four walls that you’ve come to call your home. without her, you find no reason to see what lies outside. you’ve always been the solitary type, anyway, and with the wonderful thing called the internet, it’s much easier to be alone and not be lonely (because those two are very, very different).
and this is how she finds you – she always, always finds you, and you’d always known that she would – on your side on the floor, eyes trained on a television screen and a controller in your hands. you don’t even blink, not when she enters, and certainly not when she speaks. you only sit out of politeness, gaze drifting towards her momentarily before the sounds of war capture your attention again, lithe fingers flying across the buttons once again.
“decades,” you correct, mind set on this virtual victory first, social interaction later. the object of your focus is pure brutality you can’t exercise anymore, all this rage within you released with a few quick flicks of your finger and blood flying across the landscape behind the screen. “can we do the whole reunion thing later? i need to win.”
It was said that those of timeless nature are faded to the confinement in loneliness – possessing only the treasured memories in the aftermath of a shipwreck, the marine breeze holding the responsibility to winter away the physical frames of temporal ghosts, but never the haunted grounds of an elastic heart. Oh, how undeniable was the fact that children of night had the tendency to gravitate towards each other? The influence of a shared deep understanding of the obscurity within ribcages was conspicuous.
She found harbor in the midst of your embrace fragile digits berthing to pale epidermis, trailing constellations in anemic space. Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! You were the personification of a polar star, extending a divine protection through her sailing, directing love back to your arms.
Words of gratitude never inhabited the air to escape through parted scarlet couplets in a hopeful sigh, regardless of the deep appreciation you held for the centuries of existence she devoted to your company, following your lead into foreign lands to witness the rise and fall of empires and states. The myrtle reflected moonshine against topaz colored orbs, a motherly tenderness conducting the focus of your gaze towards the polite figure of a concentrated beauty spread across the cold surface of the floor.
“Perhaps, I should had allowed the monometer of time tickle away a few more years, then?” Entertainment filled the brim of velvety voice with dulcet words carrying the weight of mocked humor, as one of your sculpted brows were arched whimsical manner. “One can only hope a century would be sufficient to decrease your fascination for whatever game you’re playing.” Your shoulders were elevated in an elegant shrug, imposing posture rested softly against the hardwood parapet of the window.
Counterfeit disinterest was only skin deep for your eyes shone in a magnificent stead interest and an almost childish curiosity inundating topaz colored pools and its immensity.
“What is this even, darling? Had any of your collectables become captivating enough to compel their release out of those countless boxes?” Dulcet voice rich in playfulness was a swift invitation to a small smile to dance across the younger’s feminine lips. Oh, how have you missed the small joys that life could bring when she was by your side! How much did you crave for the happiness of a young child, nestled in the frame of a beautiful lady.
The echoes of your heels denounced the swift speed in which you reached the only vacant place amidst the chaos and clutter that decorated the living room of her abode, your head slowly moved from left to right in maternal disapproving of her lack of interest for organization. If a majestic queen of ethereal beauty were you, she occupied the place of a princess to your empire, and the idea of ordering her back under the protection of your castle was tempting.
“Yongsun-ah.” Her name parted your lips in an exaggeratedly exhausted sigh, a trisyllabic warning that behold the entire tenderness of a mother in a light scold, the rapidity you were acknowledge for was redirected to juvenile maneuvers as your delicate hands thieved the small control out of your child’s hand. Confusion openly in display across your beautiful features as your glance shifted from the television to the control in your hands. “How do I do it?”

The concern that blanketed her voice and the way she looked at you melted through some of your walls though. The tone felt familiar and safe to you. The same tone had been echoed through many other people, your mom, your grandmother, and even Mrs. Jung, your boss. But lately, only in Iza’s presence do you feel truly secure since she was the only one who knew the pain you’ve been holding all to yourself.
“I don’t have much of an appetite right now. I’m sorry,” you mumbled. Self-consciousness crept up on you once more, for you hated sounding self-centered. You looked up and quickly said in addition, “I’m good with where ever you want to take your break. I didn’t expect to see anybody here but my family members so I’m just happy to see you.”
“Has it been a tough day for you?” For as many times as you drove past this place, you remembered that you had yet to ever visit Iza at work. It was always, “Tell Iza-san I said hi for me” or “Give this to Iza-san when you see her,” with Hyosung playing the part of a carrier pigeon, but now you were finally face to face with her.
Sculptured eyebrows molded topaz colored orbs with a small frown, the customary clarity present in the depths of crepuscular pools was stir in a nebula of disquietude and profound regard for the posture in which he carried the gravity of a heartache. You felt the warmth of a condolence sigh as it forced passage through scarlet tinted couplets at the intonation of his voice in the small piece of vague information shared underneath undivided gaze – the oscillation between shades of uncertainty and insecurity evolved your petite frame with the ferocity of a tsunami.
Weight was transferred from one leg to another; the echoes of your heels berthing against the cold surface of marble floor reverberated through the ivory corridor in a wordless attempted to refrain your figure from pursuing the shore midst tide. Slender digits slowly curling against the palm of your small hand, shades of crimson tainted the exterior of the surgical gloves that nestled porcelain so tenderly.
And in juxtaposition to his surroundings the young boy who once carried moonshine in the depths of his eyes was drowning in a void of monochromatic colors as hollow as the night.
Your heart shed tears of solicitude and lamentations, and more rapidly than the tickle of seconds passing by, you had his torso tangled in more than just your limbs, the comfort and warmth of your aura gently caressed his – painting an immaculate picture frame of the profoundness of compassion shared by a tenuous thread of familiarity between aching souls. For ethereal beauty would never allow hollowness to seek power in the control of his subconscious no, no, no!
A beloved child, your beloved child, shall never be familiar with the consequences of apathy within a heart that still beats! In death or in life, it was your responsibility to tend to the wounds that endangered the aurora in their smiles.
“Have you already contacted her cardiologist? Or would you like for me to reach one of the hospital’s specialists?” Dulcet voice was a gentle whisper of comfort as your forehead came to rest against his shoulder for a lingering second, for your hands, still covered in the elixir of live, were maintained in a secure extend from the fabric of his shirt. “Do not apologize, darling, as long as you do promise me to treat yourself a meal after you leave, I’m sure your grandmother would also be disapproving of you neglecting your health to prioritize another’s.”
The scolding was present in a soft intonation of velvety voice, as swift as the motion of your frame in unraveling his from your grasp – in order to discard the surgical gloves underneath the steam of the sink in favor of prophylactic and antibacterial, rapidly enough to intertwine your arm with his in the following moment.
Luminescent was the smile that danced across scarlet lips in response to the warmth, which his words did bring and in a glimpse of a second, reminiscing had memories reckoned. Regardless, of either or not you could had helped to glance the left side of his frame in search for a beloved.
“I have missed you quiet dearly.” Sincere was your response, although, your consciousness inquired whether your words had been directed to him or the missing pillar of safe haven. “Please, do not hesitate in requesting for my aid, Heesun-ah. Remind yourself that I am always by your side.” A giggle chimed in the depths of your throat in humor for the endearing choice of his words, the young child had always been in the possession of an elastic heart, far more caring and far more fragile than of those who surrounded him.
Just like yourself. Ethereal beauty reminded; hypocrisy had never been a flaw of your character, after all.
“My day was more of customary than of toughness, the chaotic scenario of the emergency room is surprisingly just routine, there is nothing you should concern yourself with, dear.” The shrug of your shoulders was elegant, just as the posture of your walk as you lead the path towards the winter gardens recluse in the currently season. “After all, my condition assures a lack of tiredness.” Entertainment was ever so evident in the teasingly syllables that slip childish at the end of every word. “How have you been, though? And how have work been treating you? I will introduce you to the most peaceful place within these grounds.”
「we balance of the blade of midnight for all we keep is time」
「For every reverberation of sorrowful droplets amidst the cruel immensity of shed bloodstream, the threadbare metronome thieved away heartbeats. Hollowing within the seconds, as pulse deems, a chasm of memories long dismissed and incomplete.」
「Hidden in the depths of a Cimmerian abyss are they, seven deadly ghosts, sullied and grey. Armed with remembrances of time and the terrors of the night, against the idle tremble of gentle hands the fragility of humane life.」
「you're cemented in fault lines and they're dawning open」
Gelid surface of the finest porcelain found shelter in the contour of fragile epidermis— burnished chinese, an equal parallel to the anemic digits that nestled the rounded verge of a teacup, glittered underneath the faint radiance of the moonshine and yet, the elegance of her set was still proficient in retaining her undivided attention. The breeze that teased raven colored strands into a gentle dance against the obscurity of the eventide was as suave and pure as a plume.
It diffused countless scents in a silent promise of everlasting pace in the confines of her own garden, and ethereal beauty could almost inhale peripheral calmness, it was almost a sin how translucent topaz colored orbs displayed a maelstrom of contrasting emotions so crudely when company was not expected.
Even flowers such as she needed luck remember some possess thorns and others were douse in a toxic amok. and like roses, poison ivy is also acknowledge for its colors. Evergreen! Evergreen! Such as the melancholy within she.
Her heart shed tears on its own account, for lament never was allowed to trespass the boundaries long eyelashes created to fortify the ghastly walls formed around her bleeding heart in other to protect herself from emotions absorbed from the ones surrounding her petite frame for guidance and strength. Decades and decades were necessary to prove stubborn consciousness that feeling too much was not a flaw, and centuries hereafter, she still resented the vulnerability of her everlasting gift— sometimes, eventually. Whenever her topaz gems clashed against his onyx colored ones and the otherwise hatred tides of an obscure ocean submerged her delicate frame in a tsunami of sorrow and anguish. Guilty, frustration and remorse were ever so aggravated when one could feel exactly the ache of a profound wound she created.
Soft glance lingered for a glimpse of a second, just long enough for a sigh to escape past scarlet colored lips, before the focus of her contemplation became the flames and the charcoal within the traditional settings of a tea ceremony.— An infinity of light hues and sparkles that growled around it, almost as if birthing a constellation alone.
Twelve haunts in loud cries of an ancient clock announced the arrival of the bewitching hour and warmth that both disrupted and consoled the constant pulse against osseous cages qualified the existence of temporal ghosts. Eidolic ones made of flash and bones that dwell within memories and emotions of expectations that never came to be.
“Welcome home, Leo.” She breathed, velvet voice wrapped in airy huskiness, carrying the undertone of hesitation underneath dulcet greeting. Her abode would always be home for her beloved children. “Is everything okay? Do you need me to tend to a wound or carter to-…?” An apologetic small smile danced across crimson couplets at the realization of the velocity in which her concerned words were pronounced. “Although nothing but unwanted, I did not expect your company.”
Sincerity was evident in dulcet intonation as her restless digits cradle another fine china in between anemic epidermis, topaz colored orbs diverting from the dry surface towards the lean built of the newcomer male. “Would you like a cup of tea?” Delicate hand was reached towards his direction, a silent invitation from a lioness to her cub, in hopes for an approach.
Lionhearted! Lionhearted! She claimed to be, and yet still incapable to meet her child’s glance was she. Proud one, was it not you who taught him to bare his teeth before each kill?

The horror of love | ft. Iza
[ . . . ] “I’m never sure if I am actually supposed to be visiting you here.” As he speaks his body declines, standing on the tips of his toes as he crouches and his eyes search the abysmal expanse skyward. “You wanted to die, and because you wanted to die, you deserve to be dead and alone.” He sighs and there is a silence that ensues, its euphony overwhelming chirps that fill the backdrop; a silence that almost makes the conversation feel real, feel shared, as opposed to being one-sided because he is alive and she is a corpse. “I don’t understand what motivated you to be so attached when he insisted on taking so much from me; so much of my happiness, so much of my youth. Do you think that’s fair to me, Mom? Leaving me here like that. I ask this and I have to be honest and say that I don’t actually care,” this is truth, apathy generally consumes him, momentary curiosity only smothering one piece in gray, “just that I am actually very interested.. But this is weird and pointless because you chose silence when you’ve felt the sensation of breathing and living. I just don’t understand. It’s pathetic; did you want me to think you were trash?”
He thinks that he could have guessed.
People are made for use and destruction since demise is inevitable anyway.
He forgets that this logic means his mother is a pawn, too.
And there she awaits—underneath the vast immensity of cerulean skies clawed in crimson slashes, where the wounds of time and space decrepitates with aching flames, trailing a gradient that mimicry the hues of her topaz colored orbs. Mighty sun, the fallen warrior disappearing within the crepuscule as the newcomer stars glint tears of farewell, longing for company, for the moon would always be there for the lonely.
Slender digits lingered seconds too long over every single outline of traces that composed characters and letters, ultimately resulting on a list of names belonging to her fallen angels. Blood of her blood they were not, flash of her flash they were not either, but the lost such darling souls still taints the broken pieces of a hollow heart far too majestic to be void of mundane aches. Ethereal beauty trailed the road of redemption, dismissing so vehemently the primrose path for the inconsistencies of life, for she herself was a walking paradox.
To save all was much more than an honorary duty. Yet, her pride was shattered in a counterpart to the million pieces of her already slivered heart when the wailing breath of a little one was lost. Perhaps, pride and love shared opposite brims of a line far more tenuous than hate could ever.
Heavy was the sigh that escaped parted couplets, intoning the morbid nature of such a classic lullaby hummed by her, the faint undertone of hopeful wishing ghastly the edges of archaic poetry of a distant land—forgiven and forgotten by the ruins and rises of empires and emperors, but never bygone in the depths of her subconscious.
Beware of the bewitching hour, beautiful one! Beware of the grotesque creatures that seek shelter in the shadows of the moonlight, our majesty! Echoes and reverberations of meaningless voices alerted the fragility of her being.
Foolish, such foolishness almost accomplished the curl of her lips into a small smile. Had they never heard about the danger brought upon all by temporal ghosts?
The faint resound of husky baritone captured her attention, not only by the allusion of his words, but for the apathy, that was carry to her by the evening breeze. Chilling it was, just as the intonation his voice partook in the last syllable of his words, a melancholic pity void of any compassion. Only sorrow, only hollowness remained.
“Death is not a choice; it is not an antagonist to life, but a constituent of it.” Velvet voice was strip off its commanding intonation to reverberate in dulcet whispers, for she wished not to trespass the threshold of politeness, and therefore, head was bowed elegantly in a wordless apologize. “Don’t you think silence itself is already an answer? It can be a horrifying sound for those embraced in obscurity.”
“They say that to live is to die, and to die is to live.” Her murmur was uttered in a musical pleasing manner, entertaining the depths of her consciousness as the morbid lullaby melted in korean translations as she spoke. “You have such beautiful eyes for someone with winter in his soul.” Topaz colored eyes meet his glance with overwhelming serenity and warmth, regardless of either or not the quivers assaulting her spine was caused by the wintry breeze or the opaqueness of his orbs.
「 in my presence you will find a perennial solace 」
The first time topaz colored irises encountered the hues of surprise in turbid orbs, the corner of your scarlet lips curled slightly in entertainment, for the young maiden’s porcelain skin was taint in timid crimson, an obvious adjacent gradient to the layers of ivory silk that consisted her chosen attire.
Long strands of raven colored hair, round eyes that mirrored precious gems, a face paler than the clouds that hovered the vast cerulean skies of a prosper dynasty—you were well aware of what the fates reserved for living representation of chinese porcelain; she was family property before even being blessed with the ability to draw wailing breaths of oxygen. Taken in the arms of a noblemen wealth enough to afford a beauty like hers – like yours, centuries before her aching heart trembled against osseous cages –, never acknowledge for more than what humored the eyes of the beholder.
You took her delicate hands in between your slender ones, trapping digits intertwined in hopes to comfort the overgrowing pressure of standing before strangers in an unknown environment, your heart sunk in mercy as your fangs cleft toward the flash of your bottom lip. She was so young to be immersed in those costumes, so young to be exposed to the obscurity that the noble court held as ancient tradition, too young to belong to a ruler’s harem of concubines.
“Your smile shall be your armor, do not let their words fade it away, it’s worth more than they can incur.” The sweetness of your voice was intoned in velvet, and you left behind a flushed beauty as you attended to your court duties as a representative of the southern islands.
In the second time, surprise and fear clashed in a whirlpool of emotions so intense that your empathetic abilities were almost overwhelmed, you embraced the fragile frame of a barely dressed maiden, allowing her to drown the twelve layers of your dressing in drops of sorrow as you finally whispered words of comfort. A promise of eternal protection and a subtle death threat towards the abusive monster hailed as a king.
Your heart almost shed tears of its own when she asked you either or not pain would come. As your fangs, draw the elixir of life out of veins closer to collarbones.
You silently hoped that the popular saying was accurate, and that the third time your eyes met her surprised ones would be just as charming as it could be. Therefore, when the empathetic connection both shared alerted you of her presence in Seoul, the doors – or the windows – of a private propriety could hardly be consider an entertainment obstacle. “I apologize, for the diner is a few centuries overdue.” Commanding voice was filled with amusement and endearment, the charming purse being swayed towards the spot she curled at the floor as your back rested gently against the window, delicate arms reached forward in a silent invitation. “You had never been the most patient, love.”

Along the way back to the ICU sector, you notice a distinct figure that makes your eyes widen. “Iza-san?” The honorific she taught you still sticks within your mind and you can’t help but to feel happy that you are properly showing her your respect. She is all you have left. Every trace of Hyosung that plagues your mind and tongue can be shared with her without fear. Only the ghost of Hyosung remains, but you still consider her mother to be like your own.
Crimson, scarlet, vermilion and cerise – a predator’s world is constrained to shelter countless hues of flames, conflictingly the void of gradients provided by the parallel threshold that divided the tenacious from the irresolute. A vampire you are, and therefore, a predator by default, no misconception or solecism should ever occur for the elixir of live is expect to taint the ivory of your epidermis.
Anticipated, desired and almost longed. Foolish! Foolish were all the attempts to satisfy the evergreen curiosity of popular culture towards the existing children of the night.
Vampires consisted of flesh and bones, and although graced with arguable immortality, the biological foundations were still the ones they carried before three marks extended the obscurity of their souls. The divergence was not as abnormal as some of your own kin or others submerged in the supernatural understanding would do fiercely affirm.
Delicate shoulders were shrug in an elegant manner; topaz colored irises diverted a mild concerned glance from the ivory fabric tainted in sanguine colors towards the exposed laceration. Ghastly brush of slender digits felt wintery against the perimeter of the trauma, your own frosty porcelain assisting in calming the forming purple damaged to layers of epidermis as you increase the pressure in the wound to control the hemorrhage.
The elixir of life indeed possessed a leading role in your daily routine, alas not as uneducated ones expected, an attending physician supervising the emergency care unit with an specialization in toxicology – poisoning had always been acknowledge as one of the expertizes of the fujiwara clan, after all, and you found humor in entertaining the traditions of your beloved family –.
"So what has essentially happened is this bone has been mangled." "Will you be accepting patients there?" "And then the shattered pieces just spirals around..." "He is not on call today." "My head is starting to become lighter..."
Scarlet lips curled in display of a gentle smile, silently apologizing for the unsettle atmosphere of the emergency unit as his entire built became rigid under the slightly sway of your fingertips as your disinfected his wound with a piece of cotton and hydrogen peroxide. Swiftly and soothing in consideration of the intense typhoon of conflicting emotions he already experienced that day.
Watch your free digits drawing small circles against the pulse point of his wrist in a compassionate manner. “You are four stitches away from a new adventure, aren’t you lionhearted?” Listen to your dulcet velvet intonation being muttered just an octave above a whisper, cue to a secret encouragement as you expectedly sunk the thread and needle through layers of epidermis, biding the injured tissue together as if sewing hope in his tanned skin. Feel the care in which you treated a rag doll with the same magnificence the finest chinese porcelain was guaranteed.
Were all of vampires monsters? Foolish, foolish, foolish! Do you think of yourself as a monster? Silence! Silence! Silence! It all matters not for the deathless one!
“Please, sign here and here, and you will be free to go as you please.” A polite bow followed the graciousness of your voice as you bid farewell towards the tended patient, undivided attention being draw by the familiar sound of your name in melodic tenor and a genuine sympathetic smile danced across your crimson lips. “Hello to yourself, Heesun-ah! What brings you to the emergency wing? Is there a wound to be tended to or something to be cater for?” Topaz orbs were narrow elegantly as her glance scanned his frame in search for any evident injures or symptoms, the concern evident in her velvety tone.
However, the only sanguine scent to fill your senses originated from your own delicate hands, coated away in surgical gloves. An almost imperceptible sigh left your parted couplets as you silently tilted your head towards the sink on the opposite corner of the room. “Come, I have a few minutes of break and I need to disinfect my hands before properly accompanying you towards the cafeteria or the gardens, love.”
You are beautiful because you let yourself feel, and that is a brave thing indeed.
