oh! it was long white radish, cut into 3cm slices, which are then incised from one side for more even and fast steaming - also excellent for catching glaze and slicing of bite sized pieces while eating!

yama wayama is a much younger mangaka whose work i really enjoy and i feel like there's actually a connection there. obviously her work is a lot more humorous and she really does not go for drama (unlike soryo) but hm i feel like something they both do very well is make you feel like their characters have an interiority you don't get access to? a sort of huh, i wonder what they're thinking that is very intruiging and never completely resolved but still explored.

i was extremely jealous of that back then and i still am!! the bodies, the clothes... i wonder if they're going to talk about references oh my god was see you in eden drawn with dip pen still?? or did she use a looser line on purpose because of the story... i want to know nowww flipping through this anthology is wild i feel like an archeologist in my own mind
