I turned away for three minutes...
I believe it is.. Yes and no, love.
That is the most logical solution. Why yes and no? Do you seek to drive me mad before Christmas, my love?
I turned away for three minutes...
Oh yeah, the deadly markers. Maybe he chucked it somewhere..did you see blue anywhere else?
I looked, but I couldn't find it anywhere, and he wouldn't show me. I love him to pieces, the little pain.
I turned away for three minutes...
I do not know could be magic..
It is probably magic... Did you teach him this, my dear?
I turned away for three minutes...
Was he holding his breath? Cause it’s a really cool trick until you run out of oxygen and the room spins.
No, no, it was more like marker, save that I could not find a marker anywhere near him...
I turned away for three minutes...
...and Satoshi turned blue...
I still don't know how he turned blue either.

Chloe shrugged, “You’re his daddy, it means you’re teaching him right to be a nice person. Mummies and daddies are supposed to do that.” Chloe squeezed Satoshi’s hand gently and scooted closer to him, not caring about getting her woolen tights dirty with gray slush. “Oh, no. You’re very kind, the kindest, but if I take your jacket, you would be cold. And if you get sick, who’s would take care of you? You’re a daddy. And daddies don’t get sick.”
"Any child?", Chloe asked bewildered, "I wish I had been taught things. My mummy was going to teach me the german, but then she left for school. I don’t really know things.", she added rather somberly, "But people say I have good memory." Chloe smiled at her own success and nodded. "Really? We can play some more? I want to… The other kids around here never want to play…"
Wynter smiled. "Well, no, I think his momma is teaching him to be nice." He watched them with a distinctly fond smile and then chuckled. "No, see, I'm very special, Oko-hime, because I don't get cold very easily. You can borrow my jacket and I'll be perfectly okay. My name is 'Wynter', you know." He smiled at her. Satoshi made a bubbly, happy noise, and gummed her hand, planting a sloppy kiss to the appendage with evident pride.
Wynter nodded. "Mhm. Every child has the capacity to learn any language. I, myself, know either." He looked at her and then smiled gently, kneeling down. "I could teach you German, Oko-hime, if you wanted." He nodded after. "Mhm. You can play as much as you both want, but we should get lunch first. And you're more than welcome to come. I bet 'Toshi would love your company." Indeed, the toddler was quite content holding her hand and gabbing at her, telling a story.

"He’s really cute… And he’s nice and friendly like his daddy.", Chloe added coyly as she patted the little boy’s arms. The short blonde shook her head unconvincingly, "I’m fine… Don’t worry about it. I’m fine." Her only coat was always enough. It had to be.
Chloe chuckled at Satoshi’s glee, tickling him again. “Wow, he can already speak Japanese and English? Even if he’s so small? How does he do that? He’s the smartest boy ever. Gently, Chloe ruffled Satoshi’s hair and blew a small raspberry against his cheek, “Okay so… If “Hime” is princess, then what does “oko” mean? And if “yuki” is snow, did he call me “snow princess”?” Chloe mused, trying to put two and two together. Blushing, she looked down, “Oh, no. I wouldn’t want to impose in your daddy-baby quality time… I-I’ll be right here when you’re finished. If… If you want to come back. But I don’t want to impose.”
"He is an adorable little boy." Wynter agreed before chuckling. "I think he is more nice and friendly than I am." Satoshi cooed and reached for Chloe's hand. He liked the little blonde woman. Wynter looked at her and shook his head lightly. "It will be getting colder soon. You may borrow my jacket, if you like."
Satoshi squirmed, laughing brightly as she tickled him. Wynter smiled. "He is a smart boy, yes, but any child can learn several languages if you teach them from a young age." Satoshi laughed again, smiling happily at Chloe. Wynter nodded. "Yes, he called you 'snow princess'. Oko means 'child', or 'young'." He then shook his head. "It is not imposing at all. Rather, I think Satoshi would like someone new to play with. He is enjoying your company, and I wouldn't mind simply sitting and keeping watch."

Chloe looked up at Wynter and beamed at him, still helping Satoshi keep his balance. “I think he found me first, si-… Wynter.”, she said, laying her cane by her side and tickling the little boy under his chin.
Giggling, Chloe raised an eyebrow at the boy’s happy babbling and bowed her head at his petting, reciprocating. The petite blonde watched the interaction between father and son with longing and a heavy heart, but her smile barely faltered. Chloe blushed and looked towards Wynter, “What’s a yuki? What language is he speaking? Is it Japanese, like you showed me the other day?” Taking Satoshi’s tiny hand in her own, Chloe shook it gently, “Nice to meet you, Satoshi.”
Wynter smiled at Chloe and knelt down. "Maybe. He has that way about him." He reached out to straighten Satoshi's coat and then he looked at Chloe. "Are you cold, Oko-chan?"
Satoshi made a bright, happy noise and wiggled in Chloe's grasp, quite happy. Wynter smiled. "Yuki means snow, and yes, you are right. It is Japanese, Oko-hime." He chuckled softly and Satoshi looked at her. "Yuki-hime!" He held her finger, tugging on it to place a sloppy kiss in the affectionate way that only young children could have. Wynter smiled. "'Hime' means 'princess'." He explained to her. "Would you like to have lunch with us, Oko-hime?"

Chloe had been wandering aimlessly around town, as per usual, trying to find someone to help, or to talk with, or to keep company to, just so she could get rid of the lonely shadow that was clinging to her heart. She couldn’t find Harriet anywhere and everyone else seemed busy with their every day lives. Once again, she wished with all her heart that she could go to school, learn things, have friends, have somewhere to go.
Wrapping her coat tighter around herself, she kept walking, poking the icy patches with her cane, trying not to trip. She had enough bruises already. The short blonde was shaken out of her gloomy thoughts as a small bundle of clothes fell in her path. It was a baby! With difficulty, Chloe got on her knees and swiftly hoisted the cute baby boy back on his feet. “Hi, baby! What were you doing down there?”, she cooed before brushing the slush off of his clothes. She recognized the little boy, she had seen him around with Wynter and Sev. “Where’s your daddy?
Wynter heard the sniffles and looked up, around. He didn't immediately see Satoshi and that worried him, so he listened instead. When he heard Chloe's voice, he smiled gently and stood, walking over. He smiled at her happily. "I see your found my little one, Oko-chan."
Satoshi looked at the new girl and babbled happily at her, reaching up clumsily to pat at her hair. He looked around. "Dada?" When he caught site of Wynter, he grinned even wider. "Dada! Prewwie!" He pointed back at Chloe. "Yuki?" Wynter chuckled. "Satoshi, this is Chloe. Chloe, this is Satoshi."

Beaming, Severine looked away from Wynter. Not at the fact that she was shy- she adored the way he looked at her. She simply hid away the rosy pink cheeks that managed to burn brightly because of him. Looking back at him once again, she felt herself captivated by his smile, infatuated with the way the pool of his eyes sparkled and his cheeks bones lifted- he was truly something to look at when he was all smiles. She stared at him innocently as his fingers lightly coursed across her cheek, with traces of her smile still in existence. “It is nothing compared to your radiance, ya amar.” Taking his hand in hers, she brushed her lips across the skin before turning it over and placing a gentle kiss in the center of his palm. Though he often told her of her beauty, she was more beguiled with him as a whole. Ya amar was an accurate name for her beloved since he reminded her of the moon. With it’s many faces but endless glow- he was flawed in the most perfect of ways. Desperately Severine wanted to lift Satoshi out of his car seat, but she did not want to risk making him feel even more so uncomfortable. In the way her gripped her thumb told her that he wanted to be held, and yet there was little she could do. There were no changes of clothes in the car, nor any perfume bottles lingering in the corners.
Her face fell in hearing Satoshi’s story with an ample amount of questions clouding her already cluttered mind. Why would his father shoot his mother? How could one lock him in the closet? And how did Wynter ever manage to find him? A small knot formed in her stomach, her gaze towards their child. “For one that will not remember, you bear a troublesome past…” She sighed softly and looked up at Wynter. “But his future will be one to remember. Reaching onto the floor of his car, Severine pulled out a few bay wipes and tried to mask the scent of the blood that latched on to her skin. She smeared some of the lotion onto her arms and neck before picking him out of the seat again, hoping it would do some good until they reached their destination.
Wynter smiled again as she looked away. He wasn't happy to make her look away, but happy that she was blushing. He didn't think there was a single person in the world he could adore more than her and Satoshi. He watched her kiss his hand, fascinated by the action, as he always had been. It was almost unusual to him, he hadn't seen anyone do it until she had, at least, not a woman to a man, but yet, it was definitely an action that suited her, and he didn't mind at all. He smiled warmly at her, truly in love. Satoshi whimpered again, holding onto her thumb tightly.
Wynter sighed softly. "The man was drunk. His sister-in-law called me to try to take care of him, but... Well, I was too slow. Then again, even I did not expect his actions, and please, my love, they are gruesome. Ask not. Do not even ask the question of yourself." His gaze flicked to Satoshi and then back. "He made a noise, in the closet. He was crying from the sound of the gun. I followed the noise and found him. Then I brought him home." He sighed again and then he smiled. "His past may be dark, but his future will be one of light and love." Satoshi calmed the minute she picked him up, and he curled against her again, latching onto her shirt as if deathly afraid of being pulled away. "Mama... Love Mama."

Wynter looked at the baby happily cooing at a snowman he'd built in what clean snow there was, and tipped his head back. He had to be to work in an hour and was exhausted, not to mention the fact that he'd not managed to find a sitter to watch the little one, and he was definitely not taking Satoshi to the bar.
Satoshi obliviously continued his conversation, crawling around the snowman and lifting himself to his feet, wobbling. Laughing, he started in a random direction, only to trip and land at someone's feet. He sniffled, but nothing really hurt, so he didn't start crying.

Her smile went from cheek to cheek when he kissed her there, feeling a warm sensation burning where his lips had previously brushed past. She didn’t expect him to roll over in laughter, but he humored her which was better then nothing. There was an underlying sense of fear the Wynter carried around and Severine knew that her current situation didn’t help in alleviation. However, she could try and that was something she never got tried of doing. Severine nodded her head in agreement with their small promise, more the positive that they would meet again. “See, there is excitement in mystery and love, lots of love.” She looked down at Satoshi who finally managed to relax and blew away at his cheeks. Her gaze shot up at the mirror, her green eyes meeting Wynter’s. Her expression paralyzed, but she knew better. Without a proper shower there was no way to rid her of the scent of blood that seeped out of her- even with the aid of Satoshi’s baby wipes. Looking down at him again, Severine exhaled deeply before placing him safely back inside the car seat. Once he was adjusted, she locked her thumb into the palm of his hand, hoping he wouldn’t mind. “Our son..he is a sensitive one-yes?”
Wynter smiled genuinely at her wide smile. That was a smile he loved. When she was so happy that there was no doubt of it: she lit up so wonderfully... He touched her cheek. "You are...so beautiful, mo bhean álainn." She was, in his eyes. Beautiful and perfectly imperfect. Satoshi whined as he was put back in his seat, feeling afraid once more. His grip on her hand was as tight as he could manage. Wynter bit his lip and met her eyes in the mirror. "He was locked in a small closet when I found him... On the day his father shot his mother, and blood was everywhere..." And that was why he was so sensitive, Wynter believed.

Severine looked up at Wynter and made a funny face, trying to get him to laugh as well. It was the only thing that was missing- that and Satoshi smiling along with the two of them. She was in love with her family and was determined to move mountains just so all of them could be happy. She would make this right- she had to. “I will stay forever. Each of our lifetimes, I will be near you. As friends, comrades; it does not make a difference to me. Severine blushed when his soft lips touched hers again. “Do not spend so much time, otherwise we will miss out on the magic.” Severine frowned slightly as Satoshi continued to snivel. Rather then take his hand, she took him out of the car seat and held him close to her. She then took off her sari and lightly draped him with it, rocking him gently in her arms. “What is causing you so much heart my little one?”
Wynter gave a weak chuckle and kissed her cheek. He appreciated her effort, honestly, but he was admittedly scared for her. Scared for all of them, because he didn't know what he would do if anything happened to her. For better or worse, she was one of the biggest pieces of his life now, and he didn't regret it. "And I will treasure you in every life, from here until the end of Time itself." He smiled gently and nodded. "You have a point, mo bhean álainn." Satoshi murmured and cuddled into Severine, his tiny hands fisting into her clothes. Wynter flicked his gaze to the mirror and frowned lightly. "He...might smell the blood..." He hadn't told anyone what had happened, how he'd found his son, but he knew without a doubt that Satoshi would forever hate small, dark places and the scent of blood.

Severine rested against Wynter and relaxed feeling more and more at ease as the time slowly progressed. She wanted to just hide from the world, her and her family, so that nothing could go wrong. But even then the paranoia would still lurk- so would it be worth it. Nevertheless, she found comfort in her man’s arms and wrapped hers around his so he would feel the same. “I am yours, ya amar. Where it is you want me is where I shall be.” Severine closed her eyes as he kissed her forehead, only to open them as he drew away. She opened the palm of her right hand to reveal nothing. Though she ran it gently through his hand and across his cheek, palming as though he were a precious gem of some sort. She then kissed him gingerly before tilting her head to the side. “I am still trying to figure out how I ended up to be the luckiest girl in this small town of ours.” Sitting beside him, Severine sung to him in Welsh- all feeble attempts to keep him at ease.
Wynter cradled her to him, and with her in his arms, it was like the world was okay again. It wasn't great yet, she still had blood on her, as did he, but it was okay. It was going to get better... Or at least, he hoped so. He looked at her. "I want you here, with me and 'Toshi, for however long you will stay, mo bhean álainn." He looked at her hand curiously, and then leaned into her touch, treasuring it. He kissed her back and then gave a tiny smile. "I am trying to figure out how I became the luckiest man in the world." Satoshi whimpered and reached for one of their hands, it didn't matter whose.

Severine forced a smile as he watched her- not sure exactly what to say or do. Words were currently not her friend during the moment, especially since she hardly made sense or managed to put her foot further down her mouth. The hug surprised her slightly, but she was grateful for it. The simple contact did so much in helping her feel better, that it was all that she really needed. Severine hugged Wynter back, resting against him for a moment. “Beth fyddwn i’n ei wneud heb i chi?” Though shaky, her voice was soft and genuine, honestly not knowing. And it was something she’d rather not find out. She balled both of her palms into a fist and held them out to Wynter. “Pick one.” She smiled at him faintly in attempts to ease his mind. Looking over at Satoshi, Severine looked down at their son with the smile still on her face. “You are worried too?” Picking him up, Severine cradled him in her arms as they made their way to the car. “I will be fine.” She whispered in his ear before placing a light kiss on his forehead and placing him in his car seat.
Wynter watched her again and held her tightly, wanting to keep her safe from everything, herself included. He shook his head. "I know not, anata, but... I wish you would stay." He kissed her forehead gently and then he drew back, looking at her hands. After a moment, he touched her right fist, wondering why he had to choose one. Satoshi made a noise and cuddled in. He was scared by the way Wynter was asking and needed to know what was wrong. He sniffed in his seat, until Wynter started the car.

Severine pursed her lips together, regretting everything. She didn’t want to tell Wynter anything, hoping everything would eventually fade away and the two of them would finally be at peace. “You are most likely right, it it probably a form of Roz.” Her voice was quiet though she made sure her voice was convincing enough. She didn’t want him to be bothered anymore then he was then. Slipping her hand in his, Severine waited as he had gotten Satoshi ready, feeling a mixture of pity and embarrassment. It was a feeling she had loathed a great deal, but it washed over her effortlessly. She smiled at their son from time to time, but was sure to keep her distance as best she could.
Wynter gave her and odd look and then he simply turned and hugged her. He didn't know, wasn't sure, at least, if he had anything to do with it, but it was clear that he wasn't being helpful and he was sorry that he didn't know what to do. He was sorry that he was practically useless. Satoshi made a worried noise and reached for Severine, on the verge of crying.

Severine acceded without another word though she simple smiled, forming the small note in the back of her mind. The smile quickly disappeared seeing the color drain from Wynter’s face, causing her heart to race. “You have not met him..b-but..How could you not have met him.” Severine began to panic though she could not understand why. Desperately she wanted everything to stop, but it seemed as though everything seemed to happen with her having little time to catch up. She spoke without thinking and her reactions happened automatically. She nodded her head at his explanation, deciding not to further divulge in the matter. They loved each other- did it really matter why..? Her eyes searched him thoroughly before giving up, slowly rising out of the bath tub. The red slowly faded, but she was not deterred by what she immersed herself in. She allowed Wynter to guide her into their room and sat on the bed with a towel wrapped around her body. She looked at the ground the whole time, neither making any noises nor moving unless it was to get dressed.
Wynter stared at her and shook his head. "I-I don't have another brother... Just Caiden. Just Caiden..." He sounded more like he was convincing himself than anything else. He needed something to do right then, to keep from thinking. So, he took her and led her to the bedroom, rummaging to get clean clothes, then shut the windows, then clothes for himself and using a rag to scrub off what blood that he could so it wouldn't get on their baby. He looked at her once she was dressed and took her hand. He wasn't about to let her go any time soon.
