SPOILERS FOR TURNING CH 1290+
weeping for baby kiolle, and his fairytale book and his genuine commitment to the path of true, chivalrous knighthood, for the young lion cub that somehow kept a pure and noble heart, in the truest sense of the word, in a den of foxes and vipers, for the young man whose entire worldview gets turned upside down and for whom it would’ve been so, so easy to go back to his old ways and live comfortably, yet chooses the hard path, the right path, each time without fail
Kiolle is one of the characters who had one of the best development arcs (even if it can sometimes seem a little forced). He is someone who completely stands out from the rest of his family, being a genuinely good person. He can be an idiot who takes a while to understand what's going on and seems lost most of the time, he can be impulsive and spoiled at times and not have much of a clue how to act and react in certain situations, but he is a good person, and above all, he is a dreamer who wants to be a knight as honorable as those in the stories he read as a child.
This is his life's ambition, which amidst the great ambitions of other characters seems so simple and banal, even simplistic, but when considered together with everything that surrounds Kiolle, it becomes something incredibly challenging to achieve. And that's why I love Kiolle. Because while other people are fighting to gain more power, to save the world, to destroy the world, or whatever they're trying to do, Kiolle is just trying to stay out of trouble (he's failing miserably at that) and striving to be someone worthy of being called a knight.

To me queerness is not just about who you’re attracted to. It’s a political identity. I didn’t choose to be gay. But I chose to be a queer.
