          And if Molly tried, she could almost forget that he was a killer.

          "I didn't," she admitted. "It was a feeling."

          A crawling sensation, more like, Molly thought. A prevailing unrest that tickled the back of her mind at the strangest hours. In the middle of autopsies, while doing dishes, the briefest moments in bed before she slipped off to sleep... Jim bled to the forefront of her imagination. He craved attention even in her own head, it seemed, and he had no intention of leaving her be. The proof of that sat directly in front of her.

          “I didn’t think that you would show here, though.” Molly’s hands were shaking. Subtly, just enough for the kettle’s spout to tink against the edge of her cup as she poured. It wasn’t fear -- ‘fear’ was too simple, too base, for what she felt -- but something even she couldn’t place. As soon as she had filled her cup, she set the kettle down and her hands disappeared under the table to swipe over the rounds of her knees. Clammy. Her palms always got so clammy when she was nervous.

          “So... you must want something. Don’t you, Jim?”
