11/07/15 Hello! My name is Mo, and I'm 27 year old. House is a 5 year old, Greyhound; a rescued racer. My dog was attacked at 10:45pm, on November 6th, 2015. His injuries are as shown, and deeper into the sides. He's barely walking right now, and refuses to walk up and down stairs because it hurts too much. It hurts for House to breathe, and he got little to no sleep last night.
We took him to the vet at 7:30 this morning and got him looked at, thoroughly; the vet recommended getting him sedated and setting him up with a cath. He's going to need surgery, because the wounds are deeper than they appear. He's going to need extensive care and antibiotics, and I do not know when I'll be able to bring him home with me. House is a very loving pet who gets along with all animals. This is the first time he has ever been attacked by another dog before.
He has gone through emergency surgery. They drained the wound under his throat and repaired the damage from the bites on his side. It turned out to be a lot worse than what we first saw, and they had to do more draining than we expected.
House has been sleeping a lot and only gets up when he feels like he can get up. He's not eating and has really only been drinking his water. When you live in an apartment, it's really hard to get him downstairs to use the bathroom. We haven't been capable of leaving him alone as he has found out that if he can't lick the stitches, he can and will scratch at them. So we have to keep a close eye on him. He's on 3 different kinds of antibiotics that we have to give him every day.
I know this looks like we are out of the water, but this is not going to be easy. We have a lot of other debts on our hands and we are already doing everything we can to help House. He's not just a pet, he's family. Please help us on his road to recovery!
