Hauntingly beautiful to listen to. How sad that this bird is now extinct, and that it’s last call to it’s partner was never heard or answered. At least it was recorded for posterity. But we humans have got to stop destroying everything and show some respect for the other creatures who inhabit this planet along with us.

Haku

Nigihayami Kohakunushi (饒速水琥珀主 nigihayami kohakunushi, lit. god of the swift amber river) referred through most of the film by his nickname Haku (ハク, haiku), is the deuteragonist in the Japanese animated film Spirited Away.

Looks

Haku appears to be around 12 years of age in physical age. He has straight black hair in a bob haircut and light green eyes when he is human. Haku wears blue short hakama, white kariginu with blue kimono underneath and light brown sandals. When he transforms into the dragon he has a mint green mane and a white scaly body.

In film

Haku first appears when Chihiro is on the bridge of the bathouse. At this, he quickly yells to her to “Get out!” and get across the river before nightfall. But, when Chihiro fails to do this, she runs off. Then, in a panic, he goes in search for her and tells her that she is becoming invsible. Haku then unbinds her when her legs become stuck and takes her to the bathouse. Then, he helps her cross the bridge and in the garden outback, he tells her that she needs to get a job to survive from Kamaji the boiler man.

After Chihiro succeeds in geting a job, Haku then hands her off to Lin. The next morning, he takes her to her parents who have turned into pigs. Haku then warns Chihiro that if she forgets her real name like he forgot his, then she will be trapped in the spirit world forever. Then, Haku leaves and comes back days later gravely injured by paper birds and blood dripping from his body. Now, Haku ends up in Yubaba’s office bleeding and close to death. Having Chihiro on his back, they end up falling down a mine shaft and into the boiler room with Kamaji.

 SHOUJO MANGA RECOMMENDATION

What is the best way to spend your vacation? There is no better way than having a manga hunt!

Oh yeah! I am not a manga expert (especially in shoujo-genre). I have this habit of sticking to the mangakas that i happened to like and then just read all their creations (Anashin and Takagi Shigeyoshi are two great shoujo mangakas I like). Well, that was in the past. this vacation opened my eyes to a whole new world of shoujo. I can promise you (for those who are looking for mangas to read) that these stories are enough to stay you awake ‘til midnight and let you crave for more. 

Aside from being cute and funny  these mangas share another characteristic..they are all ongoing (some are like really new..just have 2 or 3 chapters available). I am sure you will agree with me that we all know the pain that lies in waiting for new releases (maybe that is why oneshots are also popular). we know the agony of going back and forth to the manga sites that we follow just to check whether they have updated or not. We can’t complain because we know how hard it is to different groups to scanlate mangas. So why not give a shout for paperdolls project, chibi, aqua, phoenix serenade,summer rain, winter trans and to all the scanlators out there! We owe you a lot guys!.
