this is lux (universe-hopping oc/bestfriend of infi) in their "original reality." because... because that's what happened. infi fell asleep and ended up in the dreamscape of the wrong universe (lux's og one specifically, somehow) (aka the backrooms) and his body has been in a coma since. this has all just been one really nice nap for him.

ᵃ ² ʷᵉᵉᵏ ˡᵒⁿᵍ ⁿᵃᵖ...

this is optional lore. i still plan on making more of him in the backrooms, but for story purposes after this point he's just willingly visiting that dreamscape and isn't trapped there anymore. :)

feel free to disregard all of this entirely if it's more fun. half of the fun for me was just sticking him in liminal spaces in the first place. i added lore because i personally can't not add lore to things. i guess.

So, how exactly do Lux' powers work?

Is it bio- or electroluminescence? Or do they have to charge up like a fluorescent ball? :P

Also do they generate any heat when going supernova bright? Are they even warm to the touch? Light is funny in that the "warmer" a light looks, usually the colder it is. We call it "white-hot" for a reason. ^^ Althought thats usually with colour and brightness of stars and flames (and when working with really hot materials like metals and glass).

Suffice to say, Lux is a star irregardless! :3

oke ok so lux is entirely bioluminescent, no electricity involved, and heat is more a side-effect than a cause

their fur is very cool to the touch from the outside, and actually close to freezing when in "lightbringer" form (clouds being dust and ice crystals reference here lol)—but they're indeed very warm on the inside and have practically molten blood as lightbringer

ie if you take a nap on [normal] them for a while, be prepared for fresh-out-of-the-dryer-level heat

they can do the flashbang thing/glow at will, no charging necessary, but sneezing has like an 80% chance of triggering it by accident ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ

i don't actually have any technicalities to how their powers work exactly besides the light being internal, it's mostly chocked up to them having

um

divine dna (⁠•⁠ ⁠▽⁠ ⁠•⁠;⁠)

but they are very much star/cloud based djjdjsksjdj
