This scene where Shadow tells Sonic to end his life just hits me where I effing live.

What really makes this scene so impactful is that despite the fact he's more than capable of holding his own against Super Sonic even without his own super form, he makes no attempt to preserve his life... because deep down he wants to end it.

And he's not telling Sonic to kill him so he could prove that he's as bad as him or anything cliche like that. He's doing is because deep down he wants to escape from his trauma by giving himself the end to life that he didn't want to admit he yearned for, and that want has now finally come to surface in one final demand for his opponent to finish him off.

Because in the end, he never cared about defeating Sonic and his friends or helping Gerald Robotnik commit omnicide because the only thing he cared about is gone forever (and he only did the latter because Gerald manipulated him into believing that if he didn't help the mad doctor, then it would demonstrate he doesn't care about Maria at all).

GOD I LOVE THIS CHARACTER!!!!!!!!!!
