Valentines day themed drawing of the two idiots <3
rest in peace Sal Buscema, you did such beautiful work :((
would you mind sharing some of your favourite panels of his work in honour of him?
Oh no, I hadn't heard. I'm so sad, he was one of my favorite Marvel artists.
I love everything he did for Spectacular Spider-Man. I can't imagine that The Child Within and The Death of Harry Osborn would have been even half as effective without his art, and that's coming from someone who absolutely adores DeMatteis' writing.
I love Spectacular Spider-Man #180 in particular, I think it's just so stunning. Following Harry through the old photos and then pulling back, to see him frail and spindly, caught between these two figures who are, essentially, vying for ownership of his soul.
This whole sequence is just such a favorite Spider-Man moment for me, and Buscema's art and the almost featherweight of his lines here (he was on both pencils and inks in this issue) are just so stunning. Harry's posture and the horror of it -- that his father killed Gwen, that Peter was involved in his father's death, it's so heavy and it's contrasted against these light, thin lines and Harry's thin frame. It's so stunning. I love it.
(Spectacular Spider-Man #181) There's kind of a lot of comics out there where it's like, yeah, okay, someone else could have drawn that and it would have been just as good -- or better, in some cases -- but the way Buscema makes you feel Harry here is so unmatched, it's hard to imagine anyone being able to conjure up those exact same emotions. The incredibly gentle touch he places on Peter's hair in that second panel is always a knife. The thing with Harry's Green Goblin that a lot of more recent stories don't get is that you have to feel for Harry the entire time. You have to understand and empathize with him, and Buscema's art is such a powerful force in invoking that in the reader.
And I love what he does with Peter and his expressions in this arc, too.
(Spectacular Spider-Man #183)
(Spectacular Spider-Man #185 and #199) I love the tension he brings to Peter's expressions and body language when he's this close to snapping and barely hanging on by his fingernails, and I love the sheer exhaustion of the down moments, too. He also drew such a fantastic Mary Jane. I really love the strong features he always gave her.
(Spectacular Spider-Man #200)
He was just such an incredible art with such a knack for bringing out the emotions in stories to their fullest. His Spider-Man work will always, always, always be some of my very favorites.
I think Illidan is amazing, edgy, powerful, dark, smart and strong.
I also think he is an overdramatic sad wet cat underneath the layer of mystery, he is lonely, he could use a forehead kiss and a hug, and he would never admit it.
lemix has me wanting to draw this idiot again
They make me violently ill
Illidan stormrage would be so cool if wow didn’t have such a swaglessness problem
He’s so lame. I’m sorry but he’s so lame. My stupid fucking back curved double bladed one handed swords and my giant horns and my very tall ponytail and also my pigtails and I’m so buff and shirtless and even have demon wings that are torn up and also I wear a blindfold and I was corrupted by evil energies but I’m motivated by singular hatred of Demons and I got let out of prison so I could fight them. world of warcraft is like. there's dragons. there's lovecraftian horror. there's zombies. there's furries. there's elves. there's quebecois elves. there's werewolves and for a brief period of time, they were aliens. these are both distinct from the furries and from the actual aliens, who are goats and or orcs. there's spaceships. there are robots. --actually, everything and everyone you know and love is or once was in fact a robot. world of warcraft is a video game
