I am asking you to endure it.
a lot of Gregory Berrycones in the notes missing the reference to my twelve note magnum opus from several hours prior in which the narrator silently begs an entity that isn't really God for death and the entity says no
the narrator is operating under the constraint that they can only use words "god" has already spoken, "god" is aware of this and says the 'Time flies' sentence on purpose in order to give the narrator the pieces they need to voice their complaint; "god" has constant access to the narrator's thoughts, and answers them as though they're having a conversation between equals, but clearly absolutely dictates the terms under which the narrator can speak. it becomes obvious as the scene continues that the narrator is silently screaming and that the request being denied may be a request for death, but is at minimum a request for some acute suffering to be stopped
this could be an interaction between a normal person and an evil telepath with some mind control ability pretending to be the voice of a benevolent god. or it could work as a demon lord speaking to a soul they've trapped in a mirror and keep at their side. or it could be an actual god trying to calm down their only believer because they're trapped in the same prison. the concept amused me so kindly forgive the ugliness of the execution
you are asking me to endure it
ah yes. rick and morty, the show that gave us iconic quotes such as "sapphic horse girls" and "pompous autistic cadaver"
cant stop thinking about how the ticket booth guy said morty had the sweetest face ever
The artists really excelled with the "good" family's character designs. Their spotlessly clean house, polo shirts and puffy jackets, prep school clothes, immaculately styled hair, big friendly dog, and family outings to log cabins and nice restaurants--it's a perfect encapsulation of wealthy suburbanites who seem like polite, respectable people on the surface.
They're so polished and uncanny that you just know they're hiding something sinister, and Jerry's possessiveness is exactly the kind of abuse that flies under the radar. Beth's suicide at the end is also the perfect portrayal of a white-bread soccer mom who finally snapped. The C-137s have a lot of faults, but the "good" Smiths could've stepped right out of a horror movie.
rick and morty is an awesome show because it runs on the premise of what if Dr House was worse actually
It's still you.
first full piece i've done in a long while
not mama, but another baby
Why are we blaming the child for wanting to get home and killing the ‘good’ family and not the 70yr old man who went along with it.
Honestly between everything that has happened to rick and morty's runtime I'm glad that the show is good again, this new season has been very consistent in quality.
MIT rick’s cat appreciation post
The realization that maybe it’s not just your grandpa who destroys everything and everyone around you
Just bc the finale was good doesn't mean I liked it :`)
(All the parallels with Morty to Rick, Rick Prime and Evil Morty this season and somehow I thought this moron would find a way to spin it into a positive lmao. My fault for thinking Morty from Rick and Morty could ever not make everything worse for everybody.)
i think the craziest part to me is that morty returned to his family after likely being missing for days or weeks, clearly traumatized and splattered with blood, and no one says anything. rick finds him in the wreckage of a dead family, and he passes him by in favor for the loot. he looks at his mother and says, "i love you" and she scolds him and refuses to say it back. his sister yells at him. his father ignore him.
no one cares.
The idea that they both make each others lives infinitely worse by sticking together and yet cannot bear to tear themselves apart is sending me into psychosis
