which is your favourite specimen??
you DO! i really need to label those ones.
my favourite among these— stars that’s hard. the clearwing or the hawkmoth in the first photo, maybe? or the tosena in the third, that one is stunning.., i’ve grown very fond of the beetle i’m working on too.
all time favourite isn’t here, i don’t really like taking photos of her, but it’s a scolopendra dehaani centipede that i kept as a pet in my teens.
my brother got her preserved as a gift to me after she died, she was my first taxidermy specimen.
that does sound gorgeousss... i cant say i know much about moths but those do certainly look beautiful.
have you got any other centipede/milipedes? i adore them so much
they’re surprisingly hard to find, but i have a few. centipedes are a favourite of mine
this one’s resin is little scratched up but it’s another favourite of mine; not my first but one of my earliest specimens, again from my brother when we were young
i collect centipedes basically wherever i can find them
how do you manage to find such good specimen? they all look to be preserved so amazing, do you do that all yourself with the resin ones as well??

i’ve bought or bartered for quite a few, but nowadays i prefer to make a hobby out of collecting and preserving them myself. i do a lot of them on my own!, not the resin ones though— i don’t fancy working with that.
resin is more up my brother’s ally. he used to work with jewellery and stuff, so he had the right sort of tools for that work— the custom resin specimens i have are his doing. otherwise i buy them.
i like pinning and framing the most.
and thank you. i’m quite proud in how neatly i can preserve them now :)
