I came to the conclusion that I will never be loved. I’m 18 years old, I never came even close to someone saying that they found me pretty. I never held anyone’s hand. I never kissed anyone. I’m pure in all ways you can imagine and I’m at the verge of panicking.

When she loses on rock-paper-scissors and has to go searching for the boy she hates while the rest of their friends eat, and when she finally finds him they have to hide from skeletons who were trying to get the boy;

Then right behind me I heard a sharp Chhh! like the voice of a skeleton.

Without thinking, Percy uncapped Riptide and spun, slashing with his sword. I pushed it down with my pink mist and the supposed skeleton fell on the ground.

On the floor was a girl, Kleenex was some inches away from her.

"Oh my god!" she shouted. "Do you always kill people when they blow their nose?"

The first thing that went through my head was that the sword hadn't hurt her. It had passed clean through her body, harmlessly. I looked at Percy then back at her. "You're mortal!"

She looked at me in disbelief while standing up. "What's that supposed to mean? Of course I'm mortal! How did you get that sword past security?"
