What are Jack and Suzy’s love languages? Can be in general or with one another specifically :-)
Jack
To start with the easy stuff first, Jack first and foremost shows his love through words of affirmation. We see that he loves to hear himself talk and is constantly expressing himself in this way even when no one is around to hear him. When he cradles his dying son in his hands his physical touch is awkward and stifled, he’s trying his best, but his voice is gentle and sturdy. Wrapping around the snowball like a burial shroud. On the other hand Jack wants to be told, NEEDS to be told how amazing he is. How strong, how scary, how handsome. The list goes on and on. He feeds off of people’s fear, even his partners’, but feeding off of admiration is nice too.
Obviously Jack is a physical man that much is clear, but I wouldn’t necessarily call this a love language. He’s a male boomer they all would probably insist their love language was physical touch before going to feel your breast if you asked them LMAO Though I do think he enjoys the personal attention that comes with a nice massage if the ice cube scene tells us anything.
Secondly, moreso in the realm of headcanon I would say his second love language is acts of service. Not in any selfless sense but because he likes to feel needed. He wants his partner to show him that there’s meaning behind the pretty words they shower him in by seeking him out. Suzy isn’t physically weak or anything she’s a mutant too, but this is part of the reason why she makes him get up from his recliner and open jars for her or pick up the washing machine so she can retrieve her dropped sock. He’s more than happy to provide it! In return…well waiting on him hand and foot would sound good to him right about now. You have an 8 foot snowman at your disposal who can take on basically any form he wants and has the strength of 10 men, the least you can do is bring him a beer.
Suzy
Suzy is a tad bit more complicated, unlike Jack she doesn’t want to receive the love language that she gives. Except for in the case of acts of service. She and Jack are perfect for each other in this way, as you already know she has very stringent expectations for her relationship and Jack fits them perfectly. She throws herself in to treating her husband like a king way beyond the point of the things he would even think to ask for, she doesn’t care how low she has to bring herself as long as it makes him happy. She’s always looking for new ways to outdo herself. Nothing makes her happier than making it so Jack can’t think of anything he lacks. Of course she wouldn’t be doing this for a man who lazed about all day. Jack providing for the family via gathering corpses and being an electrician, construction worker, and moving man all in one is incredibly important to her.
I have no where else to bring this up but Suzy makes Jack get a real Christmas tree and carry it inside himself because watching that show of strength gets her meowing and yowling.
ANYWAYS, this leads us in to the second love language that she wants to receive which is receiving gifts. She believes that as Jack’s wife she is a reflection of his social status, why would he want to look poor??? She is the queen of push presents, and pregnancy presents, and sitting there and being a pretty little lady presents. She doesn’t get to go out much so it’s the least that Jack can do to keep her distracted and happy, aside from all the work around the house and child care she’s already doing. If men are visual creatures then in her opinion they should take part in cultivating what exactly they want to see you know?
dude this makes so much sense
jack is such a stereotypical male boomer but it also all has a deeper meaning like your example with jack jr
also suzy making jack carry a real christmas tree inside is fantastic and i love it, i bet he loves being able to show off his strength while she oohs and ahhs over him and tells him what a big strong man he is
