“Well thanks. I’m just..kinda’ you know dressin’ up as Demetrius as you do. I think these gala’s are even more pretentious then me. But you look amazing too–Who are you inspired by?”

Addie grinned in relief when he didn’t seem to be deeply affected by her babble. “That’s an interesting choice,” She commented. “Most people would be drawn to dressing as Lysander first.” She chuckled, “Well I’d hope this is more pretentious than you, or else you’d be worryingly pretentious! I’m inspired by Hermia. I kind of wanted to capture that feeling of freedom she must have felt when she first reached the woods. Before all the craziness started.”

What do you mean ‘make things difficult’? Alcohol makes everything so easy…

I don’t know if you’ve ever worn a floor length dress, but it does not make that easier. Still, I do like the dress. So hopefully it will be worth it. You work in the coffee shop. Bogs, right?

“Being the really nosy person, I scoped around this place, may or may not have seen things I wish I didn’t, and declared this place to be my future wedding chapel. The amount of people here making out is kinda disturbing, but not really surprising.”

“It could be a lot worse than making out, so at least it isn’t all bad. Give it a few hours.”

“Wow, you look really amazing,” Addison said, a smile on her face. Her eyes widened at her own words and she felt a blush spread on her cheeks. “I mean- well, your costume looks really amazing. I wasn’t saying that you- but you look amazing too... as, you know, a person. I’m just... I should stop talking now.”

I believe that they did. But I’m not too sure I’d want to drink too much in this costume. Might end up making things difficult for me.

“Here let me help you with that. It seems heavy.”

Addie smiled at the man in front of her. “That- that would be really appreciated. I’m not going to lie, I was sure I was going to fall down in another minute.”

Yes! Yes! Oh–Ex? Is everything okay? What did you study? I got married straight after High School…big mistake.

I mean, it’s old news at this point. He left town a few months before the wedding. I don’t really know what happened. One day he was there, the next he was just gone. No note, no text, nothing. It was tough. But I got through it. I did Pre-Med. Hard, but rewarding. I can imagine. Have you ever considered going back?

“Oh yeah?” He raised an eyebrow curiously at her words. “What set  you on that path of wanting to try out new things?” It was an admirable goal to have, and Miles was quite intrigued by the idea. Every so often, he would glance around for any sign of a blanket, though he found his eyes were very unwilling to be pried away from looking at the girl. Grinning, he shook his head at being called a superhero. “Oh no. I wouldn’t go that far. Superheroes don’t tend to go into bars and get into fights with guys who won’t leave girls alone do they?” He pointed out. “Nope that pretty much just makes me a sailor and fisherman through and through” Listening to her question, he shrugged. “You did.” He held a serious expression for a moment before grinning widely “Nah. Actually, you could say it’s kind of a symbiotic relationship between me and the town that brought me here. The town was in need of a fisherman, I was in need of a a bit of peace. A less hectic lifestyle. So it worked out” He explained. “What about you? You lived here your whole life?”

Addie blushed, looking at the ground. “I sort of got into a really serious relationship a while back,” She explained. “We started dating in high school. He was great, but he never really- he was never interested in adventure or seeing the world. He was happy where he was. Which isn’t a bad thing, but it’s just not me. So you know, after he left, I’ve been trying to grow and to try all those things I never got to before.” She blushed, looking down at her feet. “I’m sorry, that was probably too much information. I tend to talk a lot.” She managed to pull her eyes up from the ground in order to keep looking for the blanket. His next comment made her shake her head. “You know who would say that protecting girls from creeps that could have done awful stuff to them isn’t very superhero-y? A superhero. I’m sorry Miles, but you can’t escape it. It’s who you are.” At his statement, Addie’s eyes widened for a moment. She had brought him here? What did that mean? It wasn’t a grin split his rugged features that she realized that he was teasing. His real explanation made a lot more sense. “So you had a pretty hectic life before that?” She asked. It was fair to say that Addison was thoroughly interested in his story. “Born and raised,” She confirmed. “I always thought I would probably leave right after high school, but... here I am. It’s a good life- a peaceful life.”

“I want something so public that it’s close to humiliating.”

“What if I declare my love for you on the jumbotron at a football game? Or hire a skywriter?”

He smiled at her joke. “And I’ll be able to say I’m your number one fan because I was there.” Ronan had pushed one of the shot glasses towards her and nodded his head at her assumption. “Family… thing.” He responded with a shrug. “My brother’s here and I came to keep an eye on him.”

“Will I see you at my world tours?” She asked with a goofy grin. “Because I’m sure I could find some backstage pases for my number one fan.” She took the shot glass and raised it. “To new friends, and to not having to wash dishes.” She tipped the shot back and winced a bit as it went down. It had been a while since she’d last taken a shot. At his response, she nodded. Not a thing he wanted to get into. “Well, welcome to town! Hopefully you;ll have a good time.”

Thankfully th Chalets I clean aren’t that far from the daycare! Oh why’s that? I didn’t do College..I really wish i did.”

Well that’s awesome! At least you don’t have a huge commute every day. Oh, well, do you remember my ex-fiancee, Jackson? He wanted to go to the University an hour from here. So I did. Why didn’t you?

Laughing loudly at her, he finally looked back at her. “Be creative.” He smirked with his answer.

“Ooh, I could do that Grand Romantic Gesture thing that people always do at the end of movies. Show up at your house with a boombox or confess my feelings for you at an airport or something.”

“Yeah, I’m not much of a dish washer.” He scratched the back of his neck, smiling at her words. Ronan looked over at the bartender and gestured for another round of shots. “Here’s to being a one hit savior.” He smiled. “I’m Ronan.” He responded, turning to face her.

“Well, a one hit savior for now. I’ve got to get a few more under my belt so that I can come out with a Biggest Savioring Hits CD 10 years from,” She joked. “It’s a pleasure, Ronan,” Addison responded lightly. “So, I’m guessing you’re not from around here. What brings you to this lovely resort? Besides drinking, of course.” She grinned at him.

“No, that’s not gonna happen.” He looked away from her, making sure his eyes were anywhere but at the face she was making. “I’ve gone through too much to be won over with by the puppy eyes.”

“Well I don’t see how I’m supposed to seduce you now! I mean, if you won’t look at me and won’t talk to me, how do I get you into bed?” She teased lightly.

There was a round of negative words when she said the last part and Ronan couldn’t help but laugh before taking the wallet back and putting it in his jacket pocket. “As you can tell, that is not what they want.” He smirked at her. “So, thanks for that.” He winked in her direction. “And in honor of being the savior of the night, you want one? On me.”

Addison couldn’t help but laugh at the way that the man’s friends reacted. “You’re certainly not wrong,” She replied. “They might have left you to wash dishes for payment,” She teased. "And don’t worry about it. I figured it would be better if some random guy didn’t grab it.” At his offer, Addison shrugged, a slight smile playing about her lips. “Well, I rarely get to be the savior of the evening. Why not? I’m Addie, by the way.”
