Aha! Here I found some info on wiki. I thought I'd share it again:The Hush Puppies name and mascot were coined by the brand's first sales manager, James Gaylord Muir. Initially, the company's advertising agency recommended naming the product "Lasers". Then, on a selling trip to the southeastern United States, Muir dined with one of his regional salesmen and the meal included hush puppies, traditional fried southern cornballs. When Muir asked about the origin of the name, he was told that farmers threw hush puppies at the hounds to "quiet their barking dogs." Muir saw a connection to his new product. "Barking dogs" in the vernacular of the day was an idiom for sore feet. Muir surmised his new shoes were so comfortable that they could "quiet barking dogs."There you go, the history of hush puppies and whatnot.P.S. I've never heard anyone call a dog, Basset hound or otherwise, a "hush puppy" maybe the lady was being funny or something :/

Well its not often you would hear someone yell out oh a pug! oh a shi tzu! because not most people know or care about those sort of things. I actually just wanted to know what the dog was called haha. You didnt have to go through the trouble of searching the history but it is quite interesting so thank you for this. ;)

I actually have no idea, it is taking ages for the new bill to regulate around the country though. I remember travelling ariund europe when they changed the money to euros and it only took them a week to get the old ones out.

The dog is a basset hound, not a beagle. Hush Puppy is a type of food, i think. They feed it to puppies to make them shut up or some IDK… thought I’d share
