I’m seeing so much “PR relationship” panic from some in the fandom and I just think a lot of people don’t know the difference between big celebrities doing something for promotion and those same big celebrities simply living their life in a world where media is going to cover their every visible move regardless. This is what it looks like when Taylor doesn’t put much effort into hiding, going through great lengths to get to/from places quietly or controlling the coverage of something. I think a lot of people have deluded themselves into believing Taylor is really all powerful and anything remotely involving her must have had creative oversight by her. But this, to me (an actual PR professional mind you), looks like a woman who has resigned herself to the fact that she can’t control how or how much she is talked about and is done contorting her life around trying, and is with someone who is on board with that approach. If the person she was dating and cared about was uncomfortable with it I’m sure she would adjust out of care for them but that’s not necessary here and so why would she drive herself crazy doing it.

Something deeply painful is the fact that seasons, especially fall, dont feel the same. Not because of individual maturity but because climate change has impacted the weather patterns so so so much that we cant even experience the same annual shifts that our ancestors have for centuries

I feel displaced, i yearn for the spring, summer, fall, and winter that i can barely remember experiencing

To make things worse, if you’re under 50-60 years old, you can’t even remember what normal seasons were like because you weren’t alive to experience them

In the graph above, you can see how there’s a clear tipping point in the late 1970′s, which is when global temperatures first began to really skyrocket.

I was born in 1997, so about 20 years after this shift occurred. There is an immense difference between the climate now and the climate I remember growing up in, but the way I experienced the seasons in my childhood was already fundamentally different from what the seasons were supposed to be like! My parents were pretty much the last generation to experience a normal climate, and that’s just... incredibly sad

One of my favourite bits of media history trivia is that back in the Elizabethan period, people used to publish unauthorised copies of plays by sending someone who was good with shorthand to discretely write down all of the play's dialogue while they watched it, then reconstructing the play by combining those notes with audience interviews to recover the stage directions; in some cases, these unauthorised copies are the only record of a given play that survives to the present day. It's one of my favourites for two reasons:

It demonstrates that piracy has always lay at the heart of media preservation; and

Imagine being the 1603 equivalent of the guy with the cell phone camera in the movie theatre, furtively scribbling down notes in a little book and hoping Shakespeare himself doesn't catch you.
