What made you see the light and have you gotten backlash from swifter friends ?

this is gonna sound sooo parasocial but i really feel like both of us changed in opposite directions like i became more politically and socially aware, more radicalized and socialist, and like thoughtful and empathetic to the marginalized communities — myself included — which of course resulted is greater hate for and anger towards the systems and corporations that impoverish and kill my/these communities and the people that uphold them. At the same time, i perceive taylor as allying herself closer and closer to those systems. She became a billionaire. The lawyering up at the mention of her private jet is cray. The way she seems to raise up women artists she can profit off of and sue those that dont scare me tbh. I used to be really naive about what democratic endorsements can do and that really being the extent to taylors activism is not enough. I find the company she keeps, since about the time of the matty healy relapse to be really gross (ie the maga folks associated w kc. I know i joked abt karlie being at the wedding but i actually think it’s disgusting someone who chooses to be w a kushner and someone who is an outspoken zio was there). Im definitely not trying to start shit by mentioning olivia rodrigo but she recently said on popcast that she perceives using her voice to speak about injustices as literally part of the job of being a popstar and being famous and i agree. If ur silent abt injustices ur complicit in them. I also think taylors music has gotten worse if i liked midnights and ttpd as much as i like her older stuff, i am woman enough to admit maybe id fuck w her a little more rn but like u cant be richer and w a ugly man AND make bad music like pick a struggle (this is joke relax). Tldr my leftist radicalization and her growing complicity are at odds with each other. As far as backlash from friends the answer is no. Most of my swiftie friends i would interact w on here tho and im just like not really on here anymore so i dont really talk to most of them anymore not because of any drama but im just like busy with other people in my life and the couple of friends i made in the fandom who i dont even consider taylor friends anymore than just my friends
