I love BTS. For me, a deep musical connection has always been about poetic lyrics, raw emotion, and vulnerability. With BTS I found these things. I was drawn in by great dance music and then did my research. I discovered touching and achingly honest revelations in their lyrics, songs about life’s struggles and rewards. I looked past the language barrier and found the true spirit of these seven young artists who genuinely want to comfort the world with their music.

I’ve realized that BTS music creates a STATE OF MIND. It strengthens me. It boosts me up, makes me dance, lets me cry, or inspires me on any given day. It is ageless. We never stop needing the comfort of music.

The BTS members are a perfect combination of personalities and teamwork, all intertwined together with their kindness, humility, and a sincere desire to reach people with their music. They’re showing people how it should be done. Their music is stellar, but people also sense their authenticity and are drawn to them like a light. It’s a magical combination and there’s no scientific formula. It’s purely organic - seven gifted souls who came together to learn and grow while also helping others.

The world is hurting, and their music is healing.💜

(I wrote these thoughts in 2018, about six months after discovering them. I was so blown away by their music and their humanity I had to start writing about them.)

BTS music is so beautiful it’s like my favorite place in the world: a library. I want to live inside it. But instead of shelves of books, it’s filled with lines of lyrics. You pull each lyric out and read it as if you’re seeing yourself. You earmark the corners of the songs you love best. You use your favorite pen to underline the words that squeeze your heart the tightest. Their pages become worn and smudged with your fingerprints. It’s so cozy and compassionate and safe and welcoming there. You want to stay and never leave.💜

my tips for twitter users migrating over

use the block button liberally

ignore rude anons instead of giving them attention

find your small circle of blogs to follow and stick to it, be diligent about pruning the list when you see stuff you don’t like on your dash

talk about streaming and voting and stuff if you want but be aware that if you’re aggressive about it people will probably ignore you lol

do not DO NOT! repost content creators’ works in any way

REBLOG THINGS! likes are useless on tumblr and they are a very bad way to save posts for yourself. your blog is literally meant to be an archive of your stuff and it’s much easier to find that stuff when you reblog AND TAG it. talking in tags is also a surefire way to make mutuals

Life is reflected back to you by the way you think & feel. BTS & their music have made me look at life in a better way. What I’m reflecting has changed. That is impact, and it goes way deeper than ‘listening to a song’. 💜
